Yeah but they were told to give it a "few" days by their vet so I can just about forgive them that.

Oddly enough, the same guy got bitten by a tom-cat (not his, his is neutered) last year. He didn't realise this and another cat were looking for mates and having a really nasty fight. He tried to break up the fight by shooing them away and took a nasty bite to the leg. He was off work and had to use a walking stick for months.

That was when I first told him I work for CP  :evillaugh: .

What a relief. Maybe it was another case of blokes not wanting to show their sensitive side. Still 4 days is a long time to wait

Well it seems like the cat's had the last laugh! Apparently he's not moved much for four days but they've been nursing him, feeding carefully and keeping him warm on a blanket for four days. He had already been seen by a vet who told them to keep a close eye on it.

Concerned, they booked him in for sedation and xray at 8.30 this morning as soon as the vet opened.

Naturally the cat hid and appears to have made a miracle recovery! They are still taking him in as soon as they can catch him.

I know all this is true, my friend is many things but no liar. I actually think I may've been over reacting and he was just being a bloke yesterday acting all nonchelant.

Cat's happy, I'm happy and I shall continue the work I do with my friend!  ;D

I know he wouldn't see his cat in any pain, he's generally a very kind person but that doesn't worry me any less if you know what I mean.

I think it's just another example of an animal being seen as a commodity not a memeber of the family. I think I hit home when I spoke to him yesterday and I'll chase it up today.

It's not an RSPCA jobby so don't worry, just someone who needed a few home truths. I'll make sure the cat's ok and I'll let you all know later!

People like tat make me sick. I agree he should be reported to the RSPCA. If they really are heartless enough to leave a cat in pain, they should at least contact rescues so the poor cat can be sorted  >:(

I do have insurance but I would remortgage if my cats needed treatment and I didn't have the money.

Nothing makes me more angry than this sort of story.  I fell out with a friend's boyfriend over Christmas when he revealed that his 13-year-old cat had been poorly for "months" and he hadn't "had time" to go to the vet's ...  :censored: :censored: :censored:

I do get the impression it's the wife's cat as he's not a cat person so hopefully she's got some compassion.

Definitely. Let's hope so, for the cats sake. Makes me sad hearing these stories.
A friend of mine adopted a 3 legged cat from a shelter a while back. The previous owner of that cat ''couldn't be bothered'' taking it to the vet in time (after being involved in an accident) and the poor cat was injured for a very long time until a neighbour took her to the vets. The vet then said the leg had to be amputated, and lo and behold, the woman then didn't want the cat back. Some people... it's beyond me!!

I would feel the same as you, and not wish to work together unless he solved the problem. It tells you a lot about the person these kinds of things.

What would he do if he was in pain????????????????????

Unfortunatly the kitty can't take himself - it down to them, as it is with a child. excpet a child can tell you they are in pain a cat cant you have to watch out for them.  :censored: :censored: >:( >:( >:( >:(

Now I'm angry too CS. and  :hug:to you for telling him. Bits crossed the poor kitty get sorted.

Not sure. He said the vet thought it might be a dislocated hip. From the sound of it I've never heard of such an injury from another cat but I may very well be wrong.

He's a work colleague and I'm working on a huge campaign for him at the moment. We work well together and he likes the stuff I make but I've told him he'll have to work with another member of the team if he doesn't get his cat to the vet today.

I do get the impression it's the wife's cat as he's not a cat person so hopefully she's got some compassion.

That is very upsetting. Hope he can face his responsibilities and take the cat to the vet. What do you think has happened to the cat, been in a car accident AND a fight? My thoughts are with the kitty..

So a "friend" of mine was just on the phone. During our conversation he mentioned his cat was ill. They think he's been in a fight as he's lost movement in one of his back legs and there were teeth marks in the other. From what he says it sounds suspiciously like a car incindent with a coincidental bite mark.

Anyway they've been told to take him in for an XRay if he hadn't improved over the weekend which is sadly the case.

So my "friend" says to me "How long do cats go on for anyway, I mean he's twelve now and...well....." to which I replied "let me guess, no insurance?" and he laughed. He then said his car had failed an MOT. I told him he'd have a different opinion if it was his child and said if he didn't take the cat and get it mended I'd never work with him again.

I'm absolutely fuming!

That's all  >:(
