Hi friends! My name is Val! I am a new kitten mum! My darling kitten's names are Hunter and Harley. On December 7, 2006, when they were 11 weeks old, I adopted these two little kitten brothers from the Helen Woodward Animal Rescue Center here in San Diego, California. These two little guys and had been transfered into the Helen Woodward Animal Rescue Center just two weeks earlier from another shelter in the State of Arizona.
They had been abandoned in Arizona, and two shelters later, and with an angel watching over them, they had to do a bit of traveling and finally ended up here. Bless the person who drove them all the way to California, because
I just love them to pieces!
Then just two days after I got them home, they became very sick with URI virus and tapeworms. It took 3 weeks to get them over their URI infection, and immediately thereafter they became infected with a nasty case of Ringworm! The Ringworm took 6 weeks of daily effort and treatment to finally get rid of it.
Then just a couple of weeks ago the kittens where given their vaccinations and Hunter had a really bad adverse reaction that sacred me so much and he was sick for days. Good grief, what's next?
Some of you may already know about my kittens health problems because Fourfurballs is my friend and she was posting in Purrs on my behalf to try and get me some help. I am learning a lot as I go along here, but I promised Hunter and Harley that I would always take good care of them...no matter what. I think they must have been testing me to see if my word was true. I'm sure that I passed their test!
Fourfurballs helped me so much! She helped guide me every step of the way in my effort to plan for the adoption and then as helped me through all of their health issues. Thank goodness she was there for all my woes!
Well, now that you know all this, I think that about covers my introduction to everyone?

Gosh, looking back now at this picture that I took of them while I was at the shelter, they really look like they were already becoming sick then? Don't you think?
The rescue center had named the two brothers Hot & Cocoa, but of course those names did not fit them at all so I renamed them to Hunter & Harley!
