great news - an ulcer or injury to the eyeball would have been a major pain (in so many ways!!). Glad it seems to have been just a dust fleck ...

Since I bathed it she has stopped, so either there was something tiny in her eye that is now out, or she was practising her saucy looks!
Thanks for advice guys!

I would agree with bathing and monitoring for the time being. If the eye begins to stay closed, there may be a small scratch or something irritating it, so just keep an eye on it (excuse the pun
)

if she has only started this recently then she may be brewing some form of conjuntivitis, or she may have something in her eye that you can not see. Try giving it a really wet bathe with some salty water, and after she has recovered her dignity, see if it continues. I think it is possibly too soon to panic

Xanthe keeps winking at me, closing the same eye each time. Both her eyes are clear, with no sign of any problem. Is it likely to be just a mannerism, or should I be worried about anything? Thanks!
