Just had Andy vet on phone with Busters new results on a Sunday afternoon the last thing I expected. There is still a slight hope.
I havent seen results yet but Andy says many of the Bizarre ones are improved, he says unfortunately they are not improved enough to rule out that Buster is dealing with tumours so he is going to do an abdominal scan on him tomorrow morning.
So maybe our lad is not as past his sell by date as the vets first put him; Thank God I didnt consider letting him go.I am just so overwhelmed and relieved and full of hope at the minute my brain is in the clouds and I refuse to worry about scan until tomorrow.

But I am going to pray for a miracle.

Buster is still enjoying his food and home comforts but he is still shrinking.

When will you get Buster's new results, Teresa?

Andy says by Tuesday at the latest but it may be as soon as tomorrow. I know I should feel overjoyed to have a glimmer of hope but somehow I feel as if I am living my worst nightmare, I am just glad that Buster doesnt realise all thats gone on.

Any news, Teresa?

I so feel for you at this time  but yes, do take comfort from the fact that Buster is oblivious to all this and just enjoying his Applaws.

I understand about the in house machines struggling Teresa, they are usually very good but in certain cases with very "difficult" blood they can become very confused.

I hope you get the results sooner than tues and of course they are very different to the first ones.

Asked Andy for a second opinion this morning.( Buster saw rebecca last week). Andy checked Busters results and said they were too bizarre to be true; he requested I take Buster straight in to repeat the tests which are being sent to an external laboratory as Andy feels the machine has struggled with Busters results. Andy has examined Buster and repeated the tests, his gut feeling is that Buster is dying but he asks that I wait until the results from the new tests come back and then we will go through things thoroughly. i`ve a glimmer of hope in my heart but my head says not. I just explained to a friend that I feel like a yo yo on a rollercoaster.

Lynne the bloods were indicative of secondarys already being present.

What were the bloods suggesting T ?  anything in particular or a generalised decline ?

Eating little and often is prob a good thing too for his digestive system and may mean he's getting more benefit of the nutrition he is ingesting.

In many ways Buster is at a great advantage, many poorly elderly cats often need prescription food, in Busters case hes endured over 10 years of lower urinary tract support and now he can have anything he likes; no wonder my boy is eating albeit little and often. He usually likes to go out in the garden for 5 minutes morning and afternoon but thankfully today he decided not to bother.
Going into vets in morning and will ask vet to go over test results again as something is niggling me.

Oh Teresa I am so sorry to have read this just now,  To echo what many others have said you have been truly blessed to have had his company for so long and he has been extremely fortunate to have had you and your family/friends to care for and love him so much.

I have always adored that photo of him on the staircase, his eyes are really a picture into his soul I think  :Luv:

We shall pray he slips peacefully into the next world when he feels ready and meantime you enjoy many happy shared moments

Christines post was wonderful even if it has me in floods of tears
