OK I think. It was three weeks yesterday and I have cried at some point everyday. It does get easier though and I am glad you are doing ok.

I'm doing ok, thanks for asking, the tears have stopped, i have happy memories of him now, though i still miss him terribly, just the other night when i was going to bed i thought to myself "oh, lets see if Tigger's there!" [if he went out at night i always made sure he was in before going to bed, and if he was'nt i would wait for him to come back] then i realised he was'nt here anymore

old habits die hard!!

I'm not too bad, i still think of him and miss him, then i think "well, i had no choice really, i could'nt let him suffer".
I have noticed Meg sitting by the door still!! but she is more or less back to normal.

Tigger is gorgeous,i know what you going through. There are good days and bad days when you loose a loved one.I lost DD ayear ago and Jim 9 months ago and i still have days which i break in to tears but i am sure time is a great healer.

Time is a great healer. It does get better.

You remember all the good times and you know they wouldnt want you to stay hurt.

I still miss my Jemilla and sometimes I still cry, but Im glad to have had her in my life.

That is a lovely picture of Tigger. He is a handsome chap.

It does get easier with time but I know two years on I still misss Kocka.

You are so lucky seeing Tigger and wish Kocka would show herself, I have had some great rainbows from her though

Well, as i said,i have been ok today, untill befor that is! that's when i broke! it just comes over me.
I'm not in the best of health really, have'nt been for the last 5yrs or maybe longer, i have a thyroid problem--overactive--or it was, i have had 4 treatments of radioactive iodine, i also have thyroid eye disease which i am haveing treatment for, i get very tired with it all and very weepy sometimes, but with Tigger passing i've been a bit more weepy, anyway thanks for your replys.

I am glad you are finding it easier. I am finding it easier with my loss too - I haven't saw Bertie out of the corner of my eye or anything ....maybe I am not observant enough. I have been very emotional this week but been off work with the flu - so missed his prescence even more!!

I am sure in time you will find a place in your heart for more of the happy thoughts than sad reflections

For about 6 months after Dingle passed away in 1997 (we were together almost 21 years) I "saw" her out of the corner of my eye regularly. After the first couple of times, I learned not to look which lengthened each "appearance" for want of a better word. After about 6 months I just realised one day she was gone and it was OK. I still miss her 10 years later but there has been no pain for many years. Glad you are beginning to come to terms with your loss Chris

I am glad you are feeling better and am sure Tigger visited you to check you were ok. I know how you feel as I am going through it myself right now and last night had a really demented crying session and a little cry this morning when I was finishing off the memory book. But I don't mind the tears as they are so worth it.

Have to tell you this---when i was typing the first of this thread i could of swore i saw a tail in the corner of my eye! it made me look around thinking it was Meg, but she was'nt in the room she was upstairs! now when Tigger was here and i was on the PC he would often walk around the chair!

what do you think of that??

Hi Chris,

Glad to hear things are getting a bit easier ... as with any loss it takes time to get over the heartache but it sounds like you and Meg are getting there

I'm sure when the time is right for another kitty the right one will find you ... it's funny how these happen. Usually when you are least expecting it.

I'm so glad you found us and that "we" (the Purrs family - of which you are now a fully paid up member

) have helped and will continue to help you through this dark time.

Hi,
I am still missing Tigger but it is getting a little easier, this is the first day i have'nt cried since he went, i have framed some of his photo's, so i am still seeing him, which i nice.

Meg is ok now, i bought her a bed after Tigger went, and for 2 days she only came out of it to eat, but now she wont go in it, i think that was her grieving time in that bed, she just slept!

Wether i will get another cat only time will tell, but for now it seems to soon.

I have gotten through this with the help of all you lovely people on here, you have really helped me, i saved all the lovely poems that were put on here and i have read and re-read them, now i can read them and just feel a little sad because i now know i did the right thing for Tigger, he will never be forgotten i have lovely memories and photo's of him.

It's a lovely day here today and we were in the garden with Meg, but it was strange not seeing Tigger rolling in the sun, these little things are going to remind me he's not here, at least the cat from down the road can't attack him anymore, Tigger could hold his own but this cat got him even when he was sick!
