wouldnt worry about it karen, dominance in the animal world is often a good thing and lets everyone else know where they fit in the world.

awwww, they are so cute together!!! :Luv: Notice that possessive arm over his girly? that is, 'I am in control'. Dominance is expressed quite subtly at times, does not have to degenerate into fighting, it is more a process of bluff in many cases. In his case he is using his body as a means of 'dominating' his sister, that is all. Just showing that he is the man about the house. Nothing harmful about it, just normal behaviour. I bet there is one human in your house who generally has the last word also (not always, just generally) ... same thing.

Never have I seen them fight fight, they play fight quite a bit but nothing more, they're very cuddly with each other. Actually I just took this of the 2 of them about an hour ago. . .

dominating is just about seeing who is higher on the pecking order. I wouldn't interfere unless one cat is beating up on another badly ...

My Eldest, Bear, Does this with Teddies  :rofl:
I did ask my vet about it as i though he shouldnt get "the urge" and my vet said it was a dominance thing rather than a sexual

Is there any chance it is a dominance behaviour. Neutered dogs still do it at times but this is because they are asserting dominance ...

the hormones should be more or less out of his system karen but they are still young & its getting towards spring which can make them abit doo lally.   I 'd be more concerned that its daisy who is giving off pheramones that she shouldnt, was she neutered at same time ?

Should male cats that have been neutered still have those kinda urges? Lol, this is a bit embarrassing, not quite sure how to word it. But for the 3rd time in 2 days I've caught Belle in a, shall we say, compromising position with Daisy. I thought once they'd been neutered that was the end of all that, I'm probably wrong but thought I'd check cos I'm starting to worry something wasn't done properly. I've never seen anything like this with the other 2 boys. It's been 4 months now since he was neutered.
