Little Luna has been to the Vets. The eye is ok, no damage to the eyeball and no sign of infection in the cut. The only thing is, they dont want to stitch it as there is a little chunk out and they said if they stitch it, it may pucker up. They said they think it should heal ok and are going to check her next week to make sure she is ok.
I'm so glad she didn't need stitches, i just hope it heals ok.
Thanks to everyone for their concern.
Hugs from me & big furry face rubs from Luverly Luna XXXXX :Luv:

it might be very tricky surgery depending on the size and condition of the flap, it may need to be excised and a stitch put in as best as possible.

sory to hear you came back to find Luna hurt. Peanut suffered  exactly the same injury a few months back. He is now proudly sporting his scar .
Please don't worry I'm sure it will heal up really quickly in about a week as did Peanuts.
Its good that her eye  waters a lot, its natures way of flushing out any  debris and the tears are part of the immune system and contain substances that fight against bacterial infection

give her a kiss from Peanut and Boo

I hope little Luna is feeling a little better this afternoon.

Give your vet a call in the morning if you are still worried.? Is it tomorrow that you are due back with her anyway?

Poor little babe.....give her a cuddle from me.

Lots of love

Poor Little Luna is not well, I don't think her eye is infected but it is still very watery. I know this is probably to be expected but it seems to be running out of her eye where the nic is out of her lower lid. The little flap that has been ripped is still attached and from what I can see it is going to need stitching.  Has any one had this sort of thing happen to there furbaby ? If so did it heal Ok ? She has such lovely eyes, like the moon, hence why we called her "LUNA" I do hope they can fix it so it looks ok. Advice please !!! :scared:

Ah bless her. ?Some cats are so easy aren't they.....but most are monsters when it comes to tableting and eye-drops.

I'm sure she is OK otherwise but if you are worried I would just raise your concerns with your vet when you take her back next week. ?He/she will probably weigh her and give her a general check over. ?Normally the weight will be entered onto? her records so that they will be able to monitor any abnormal gains or losses.

Some cats are just small. ?One of mine (Beryl) was always tiny and I used to worry about her so much but (touch wood) she is the fittest of all my cats...........and at the age of seven, she has never been to the vet for anything other than her vaccinations. ?She is due for a dental in a few weeks though.....nothing urgent, just a scrape and I believe this is quite normal for a cat her age. ?As my vet used to say to me, she's just a small boned cat.

Hope that helps and lots of love to little Luna for a full recovery....with no stitches needed. ? ? :)

I wouldn't worry too much about her size I am sure the vet would have mentioned something when he/she saw her. I have had a few Brindle cats that have been quite small all their life.

Just a little update on Luverly Luna. She is playing around like usual but her eye seems to be very watery. I had to start her tablets & drops this morning. I wrapped her in a towel and my OH held her. I thought she would strggle at having her mouth opened and tablets put in but she never flintched. She duly swallowed and then let me do her drops, not a problem. She is such a star ! One thing I do have to ask is she is 24 weeks old but she is tiny. I know Toms are usually bigger than she cats but her brothers are 3 times bigger. She eats well and is very lively & happy. Do you think she is just going to be a small cat or do you think there may be an underlying problem.  She seems to have been kitten size forever. I call her my "Mini Kittie"
Any way Thanks for all your good wishes, I'll let you know how she gets on at the vets on Monday.

At least you took Luna to the vet immediately instead of seeing how it goes

Hope she soon recovers.

 :(

Came home from College today to find Luverly Luna has been scratched across the eye by another cat. Not sure if my other cat Tibby did it or if another cat has done it while she was playing in the back yard.
She has a nasty nick out of her bottom eye lid. Rushed her to the vets who gave her antibiotics & painkillers. Have to take her back on Monday to see if they need to stitch it. They didn't want to stitch it today in case they trapped an infection. She looks so sorry for herself ! Going to make sure the catflap is locked next time so she can't get out and that she is not left alone with Miss Tibby.
