Due to Ticco doing so well, we are taking her back to the vets this week and seeing if a steriod injection may help her abit.. Of course she has a terminal condition but we can bide  her abit more time...

So pleased Ticco is responding to TLC .... she was obviously feeling down and depressed which wouldn't have helped her condition but now she is feeling loved and safe again it would seem she has perked up.  Great news.

Big hugs to Ticco and Caroline for taking her on

Update on Ticco!

"Have just got back from Bournes with Ticco and she has discovered a new lease of life! Emma is suprised at how much she has improved. She is eating well 4 small meals a day and purrs constantly Her tummy is slightly smaller and her breathing is ok It is still only a matter of time but while her quality of life is like this she shall stay here and be spoilt I have transferred her care to AH"

I have seen Ticco she is a lovely blue (like a russian blue) cat... Her tummy is huge though.. Bloods pointed to extreme liver enzymes, so FIP is not the cause.. She is a little bit anemic as well...She is fine though, a big purr and loves cuddles.. Caroline will keep her going as long as, but at the moment see isnt in any pain...

Ticco is now with  or fosterer Caroline. Nothing further was done, she is full of liquid in her tum and is with Caroline until Friday where they will decide if her quality of life is still okay, so we are playing this on a week by week basis really.

if not then the vets advise is to PTS.

Her breathing is okay and she eats abit but we dont think she has long as the fluid may start building up to such an amount it presses on her other organs... On vets advice we decided not to drain the fluid as apparently it compromises other organs and will reduce her chances of being able to breath okay for much longer..

I heard from Carolne (our fab fosterer who is also a nurse) and dosnt mind dealing with the difficult cases, that if Ticco gets on with cats she can spend her time in her home... Caroline lost two elderly persians last year one to similar problems that Ticco has so knows what to expect.. If Ticco isnt keen on other cats then we will have to think again..

But at least we can do what we can... Our last terminal iill cat called Syndey (some of you may remember) had lymphothma and lived for 4 months in foster care... He died in his sleep...

Not good news. Ticco bloods point to liver tumour..results were off the scale.. Will talk in depth about her case tomorrow but it looks as though we can give Ticco a few weeks or whatever of hospice care before things reach a conclusion.
