I would keep an eye on him Gill, the temp tends to go down after a few hours and like Angie said if he's eating and drinking, that's a good sign. If there's no improvement tomorrow, I would probably get him back in again just to be on the safe side. If he's been in a scuffle, he may have some bruising somewhere so will be feeling out of sorts with that as well. Hope he's feeling better soon
Just read your other post, it may be worth trying to syringe some water down him to keep his fluids up and if his temp is raging, it might be worth phoning the emergency vet and asking for advice.
