I have only posted on this site a couple of times before, back in November when I adopted a very malnourished rescue case called Kitty.
Alot of people on here gave me advice on how to get her back to health with feeding, she was a fussy eater and when she actually found a food she was willing to eat she would only eat if you sat on the floor next to her, otherwise she was on hunger strike.
Kitty also, at 7 years old, weighed what a 12 week old kitten should weigh. EVERY bone in her body was visible.
So.... just 3 months on, here is a little update.
Firstly, Kitty is now called Poppy.
Poppy has adopted some new rules which she lives by. They are as follows:
Poppy has now put on alot of weight, and weighs exactly what she should do for her size, her coat is beautiful and glossy.
Poppy will eat anything you give her especially Iams biscuits, and anything in gravy, and will now eat without supervision, although if you are having toast for breakfast she tries to steal it.
She will attack any kind of shiny object, even if it is 3 in the morning.
Poppy loves hair bobbles and runs off with mine in her mouth on a regular basis. She has even figured out how open the drawer where i keep them.
She has to be brushed once a day - not because she needs to be, because she wants to be.
She will not go outside, I have given her the opportunity, but she looks at me as if to say "you must be joking" and runs behind the sofa. ( I dont mind this, i prefer her to stay in, its safer - she is way too clumsy ).
She tries to drink out of your cup when having a cup of tea.
She will not get out of bed untill she is ready.
She will hiss and spit at any cats she sees while watching the world go by from the window sill.
All in all she has turned into a confident, funny, enteraining and diva-ish little maddam, and i wouldnt have her any other way
:D :D
