Just spoken to the vets again, wanted to make sure Sootys owners had been told.
The VN said she got hold of them at 7pm, they are heartbroken
and what is so sad is that they lost there other cat last week to an RTA.

They are collecting Sooty today and taking him home to bury him

I didnt though Ruth, He was already dead when i collected him

. My friend had seen him in the road and texted me and i couldnt bare the thought of him getting driven over or his owners finding him in the road in the morning so i went and got him.

That's really wonderful what your lot did Michelle. It never ceases to amaze me how compassionate cats can be.

I'm so grateful he had someone who cared help him find his way to the bridge like you did and I am sure his people are relieved to know that at least they know where he is and they can say goodbye knowing.

This little baby was called Sooty, I say "little" but he was infact HUGE and he was only 16mths old.
He was much loved by his owners and the VN said he had been there many times "He was quiet a lad" she said

When i brought him home last night i laid him on the floor in the lounge, my cats all came to have a look.
You know not one of them hissed, they started licking him and nudging him.
My Issey cleaned ALL his face and kept looking up at me - It was was quiet emotional.

I have seen my cats do this when i have lost one of mine but to see them do it with a strange cat was lovely.
I know they say that animals understand death and i am quiet sure they do.

I have added him to RB thread xxxx

I know what you mean though, 29th was 3yrs that i lost my Storm to an RTA

Update on cat

The vet scanned him and he was chipped and it turns out he was a client of theres, A very much loved cat

I will add him to Rainbow Bridge with his name later as the owners were not at home when the vets rang them and although i doubt they read this forum i wouldnt want them to see his name etc before they have been told about him

It's very emotional for me today as it has been 3 years to the day since my Zak was run over an killed.

Bless him I hope he is happy on the bridge now - I know my Beau & Zak will be there to show him the way, all the best places to hang out and chase those butterflies.

I hope the posters brings his mum & Dad forward. xxxx

As this is the nearest vets to where he was found. They will scan him for a chip and then hold him for a week. I will put some posters up.

Gail, I dont think he suffered, i think it would have been pretty quick xxx

My Friend has just text me to say there was a Dead black cat in the road up the lane.
I have just been out and collected it
