just my 1p's worth but it sounds like you are doing the right thing Mark. They get so unhappy if you try to force them to eat some nosh they don't like.

No luck with the prescription food. Alice is eating what suits Alice

- some senior and mostly regular felix. She is really fussy and will sniff at senior food but clear the plate if I give her regular felix with water added. As her poos are firm (ish) and she is well in herself, I think all I can do is keep her happy. She had full bloods done and doesn't have any kidney issues etc I do worry about her and Clapton not eating the proper food but if they are happy and well, there's not much I can do. When their bloods are done again, I will have to review things but as you know, you can't make them eat something they don't like

She seems happy enough now and is purring for england. I am just giving her Whiskas senior wet and Eagle Pack dry. Firm poos, no gurgling and a happy kitty - a bit premature, but her tummy looks a bit smaller

As a bonus, I bought down all the bags of rejected food with a view to giving them to Willow. Clapton was fussing for food so I mixed some Burns dry into the bowl of food he already had - he ate it and wanted more

- I then gave him some Burns on its own and he ate that too

- his first quality food in 2 years

If it were me id feed one type of normal wet and one type of normal dry, a brand she likes and see how that goes for a couple of weeks. You wont be worrying then that shes hungry and unhappy.

I agree with you Mark, if she's starving herself, it's better for her to eat something rather than nothing. I don't agree with all this she will eat it if she's hungry, cats can die because of this attitude. I hope you manage to sort something out for her

That's strange as the Eagle Pack is aimed at cat with dietary problems and they also give advice on the phone but like anything else, it may work for some and not for others. I would say the problem you had with the Sensitivity food would be to do with the gravy rather than the flavour, alot of cats don't tolerate food with gravy, or at least most of mine don't.

I have tried JWB and for the last time. I have lost count of how many bags I hacve either given away, thrown or fed to hedgies (even they aren't too keen

I am trying to keep her on the Eagle Pack as it contains prebiotics, probiotics, digestive enzymes and glucosamine (her legs are wobbly) although she ate some, she is on hunger strike but going crazy for food. I ended up giving her some whiskas senior as she was starving. Her little tummy is swollen and she yelped when I picked her up

Have you tried James Wellbeloved Mark? I do agree with MM, you seem to have tried a lot of different things, and not all cats can tolerate that, so you might find that she doesn't need the mega expensive stuff, just one thing for a couple of weeks, maybe combined with natural yoghurt/probiotics. That was all Rolo needed, he can tolerate 3 kinds of dry food now, and 2 kind of wet food. He has been here 3 months though, and I didn't dare change any food for well over a month after finding somethign that didn't affect his tummy.

Mary has had a bad tum lately blood in runny smelly stools been given hills rc by vets But she wont touch it i left it down over night but still thier by late morning so wound up bying tesco finest box of 12 closest thing i can get to normall chicken.

I knew as soon as i saw it she wouldnt touch it paste type food but at least the vet said i could return anything i havent used if wont touch it.

Odd that I got my sample pack even though I ordered a day later than you. Sounds like they do them every couple of days quite randomly

Managed to get some of the Anchovy one so will try that on Tarka tonight, he's getting bored of his RC sensitivity now and his pooh has gone soft again anyway so helpfully this will help, together with the slipper elm tablets I got him, which smell realy nice

Could well be - If it happens to be the Eagle Pack, that's fine - it's a high quality food, with digestive enzymes - also as a bonus, it has glucosamine (sp)

Papillon is sending me some. depending on how she takes to it, I will order some. I will try to stick with one food for as long as possible otherwise I won't know what is causing it. Funnily enough, over the last couple of days, she is pooing normally and it is normal colour. She is just eating RC sensitive and Whiskas senior in Jelly at the moment rather than the mix & match Clapton likes.

All the posts on the US forum on tummy issues have said to use proteins cats wouldnt normally have come into contact with - fish is one of the biggest allergens, so that would be worth looking at. You might want to look into Orijin for a dry food, Susanne would be able to give you details, I think she gets it from Zooplus, I 'think' it is grain free.

It's so confusing - I have ordered the Eagle Pack duck & oatmeal which they say is the ultimate sensitive diet due to duck being easily assimilated protein.

Thanks Baggy. I have some of their "Perfectly Fishy" pate trays which they will eat when in the mood. I think one of the things with sensitive diets is no wheat or wheat gluten which seems to be the issue. Also pure, easily digestible proteins like duck. At the moment, she is tucking into Whiskas senior Tuna as they love the new seafood whiskas senior. I will attempt her diet again in a couple of days when the other food arrives.

Am not sure if it would be of any use, but Sainsbury's have just started to do a new food in individual pouches with 14% meat content and a probiotic. It's called "perfectly meaty"...

I keep changing the RC food but she is refusing to touch it - I had to give her something tonight so tried the Tesco "luxury" food they all refused before - I know it isn't ideal but at least there are no cereals or dairy in it. She refused the chicken ones but grudgingly ate some of the fish one.

Mark, i have more than 10 tins of, Hills D/D Venison diet , the RVC prescribed for Boy so i got the full tray of 24 from the vet but after two weeks he stoped and refused to eat it, so if you want i can send you some tins and you can try for Alice to see if she likes it and if she does then you can get some more?

I looked on the American site and the one I really want is the Anchovy Salmon and something which they recommend for diarrhoea and IBD but can't see that on the Postal Pet Products site. Looked on the french site, but couldn't understand a word.

I ordered mine today online so more than likely they haven't even looked at my order yet. I will have to see if there is anywhere else that sells it for the long term but they are listed as the UK outlet

- It's a shame zooplus don't sell the duck one.

It's annoying as when you click the "order" button, it come up with something like "We are working on your order right now!"

Doubly annoying that you can get it from loads of places in America and it's less than 1/2 the price there.
