I seem to recall Alex saying that she was collecting Poppy's fur to try and spin at some point.

The difficulty lies in the spinning. Wool and other 'fleeces' have little barbs on the hairs that allow them to bind together well. Cat and dog hair don't spin so well as the 'barbs' are not so prominent and so the hairs tend to slide across each other, instead of binding together.

Cool hat

I'm sure she will hate it  :evillaugh:

The woman that makes them does it as a hobby. I saw her at the local farmers market spinning. Two weeks later I went back to the market to look for her but they said she was there as a one-off. They gave me her number. When I phoned, she offered to deliver it - she lives about 12 miles away in Chilham - the other side of Canterbury. I said it was too far to make a special journey but if she was passing..... - she said she comes here once a week to go to the fish market so would deliver then. Bearing in mind she dyes, spins and knits, I was surprise when she told me they are £15

You could spin that and make a nice jumper Gillian  :evillaugh:
Seriously, I know someone that save their dog's hair to have it done  :evillaugh:
I bought my mum a hat for her birthday where the woman dyes and spins her own wool  :)

Cool hat   ;)

There was a woman in cat world years back wearing a cardigan that she'd spun and knitted using the fur from her chinchilla perisan LOL!

Think I will have to bring Misa round cos he is tangling up the top side of each trouser leg

And they don't like being groomed in that area either do they?

Think I will have to bring Misa round cos he is tangling up the top side of each trouser leg.......what I dont underestand is why it matts against the skin with all the nice loose fur on top so you only know what its doing if you feel the lumps below.

Maybe its the way he grooms and cant get the bit close to the body!

He would fight and cause a real problem and of course is enormous

I'm feeling really chuffed about the cat I groomed this afternoon. I quite often get told the cat won't be groomed, fidgets about or is vicious and will bite or scratch and when they come here they are - well, pussycats LOL!

The person who'd previously got its knots out a couple of times before wore gloves and had to pin it down! - I was expecting the worst - but apart from a few grumbles towards the end, no attempts to bite (oh mind you she did give her owner a bit of a nip  :evillaugh:) me or anything, she just sat there while I gently removed the knots, no pinning down, all was calm, and I combed the coat through to remove all the loose undercoat and a lovely puddy cat emerged - I just love it when it goes like that! Got loads of fur out - this was just the half of it!
