Actually Sam, it isn't, there is a difference in certin animals milk - lactose intolerant people can drink goats milk, but not cows, and it can be given to cats as an alternative to cats milk.
The only problem with giving cats baby food is if it contains onions, and the bulk of tinned baby food does.
Please spay your cat

CC, I think what was meant was if more milk was expressed than needed, could the cats have it? :scared: (I think!)
Don't judge me

No judging intended! ;)

Milk is milk and I'm sure your furries would love it (as a treat of course).  ;)

cow's milk contains most of the same components as breast milk, these components are not in the same amounts.

CC, there are many mothers who for various medical reasons can't supply enough milk, or indeed ANY milk for their babies.  :( SCBUs are always appealing for milk donors to come forward and give surplus milk to help premature babies. Research does show that prem babies given donated milk do much better than formula only babies.  :)

Er... we were talking about cats, weren't we?  :-:

So J was meaning giving her own milk to the cats?

The babies mothers give them milk in the SCBU.

Of course I'm not so absolutely in the crazy cat woman category that I googled to see if human milk could be given to cats, you know, if there was any excess expressed, oh no, because a search like that wouldn't get any results if such a person would do such a search.  :shify:

If any excess milk was expressed, I'd recommend the person who expressed said milk contact their nearest SCBU, who will be pleased to collect it for the benefit of prem babies in their care. And they even supply little milk bottle for you to store it in your fridge until they collect!  ;)  :wow:

My daughter is just at the trying solid food stage so when she has her evening milk we give her a small amount of food.
Yesterday I brought her milk and food up ( chicken and pasta mush ) and settled her on my knee, started feeding her her milk, turned to get her food only to find our 17 year old tortie lapping away.
Little sod ;)

Good tho, I dislike wasting food and my daughter can't eat much so at least I know now what to do with the bits of organic baby food I have been throwing away ...

;) I am sooo well trained to not leave any human food unattended for even a second, my own fault ;)
