Hope Freddy soon recovers,it is awful to see them in so much pain.Is he on special diet food?

Yes Our Buster had the op,gosh 9-10 years ago, and Jet Roz`s boy had it done 2-3 years ago; the op is not the end of the world infact it was a bright new beginning for Jet and Buster.

We jokingly call it a sex change but it is known as a P.U. or penilectomy.

Yep, think there's a bit more to it than simply 'chopping it off' but pretty sure that's what a penilectomy is!  Hopefully you won't need to resort to such drastic measures for Freddy!

Poor little Freddy, give him a gentle head kiss from me and the boys  Hope the tablets and injections sort him out.   I'm sure Roz's cat had that op (a penilectomy?) - just did a search and Teresa's Buster has had it done too!

What the "chop the willy off" Op ?

Poor boy, hope his meds do the trick and the unthinkable doesn't have to happen

Aw poor Freddy, hope he's feeling better again soon.

Didn't one of the furries on here have that op?  My memory is getting worse I swear  :shy:

Had to rush Freddy to the vets this afternoon.
He was trying to go a wee and was screaming, I was sure his bladder was going to be blocked this time
but NO still only cystitis.
My vet explained how painful it can be especially for a boy.

He has had a steroid injection and i have to give him half of a Prednisolone tablet a day plus a quarter of Clomicalm tablet (calmer)

Was having a chat with my vet about blockages and he said it has been known for the Penis to have to be cut off !!!!  I did laugh (know i shouldnt) and said do you saw it back on after...He said No the cat is then left without one !!
He also said sometimes the blockage can be by or behind the Prostate gland and then it means breaking the Pelvis to get to it  :wow:               He said he has only ever seen one case like this and the cat had to be sent to a hospital in London with the cost of £4000 !!!
