After many, many attempts i have virtually given up trying to find a reliable PR person to help with things for our local papers and press and radio. The trouble is that someone starts but hardly even continues or just gives up which then brings the job back to me and to be honest i just dont have the time
PR is so important for us as we are a small branch of CP and despite living in a area that is not too bad off, our profile is dead in the water. Most people dont know we exist and although we do lots of rehoming via catchat ideally we would like to find more volunteers and helpers, not only to help run the branch but to help with rehoming.
I do what i can but it needs to be consistant and reliable and that just isnt happening.
A few weeks before Christmas we had a recruitment event on a sat morning whereby i got at least 14 new volunteers to come along, all were keen and we talked alot but not one had carried through their promises of help and assistance and now i have given up..
So although we would love someone local, if you have a PC, internet connection and are up to a few hours a week (or less really as we dont evisage something going to the press every week). We want to raise our profile and that may take abit to get started but once you find contacts etc it should be easy to just press the email button and go.. We can get help with press releases from head office but ideally it needs to be locally orientantated. Also we dont use the radio enough.
Is there anyone out there that would be willing to at least give it a try and save my sanity for a few months.
If so please get in touch and we will be very gratefuly.
