He obviously was too rough with her cos they dont need to scruff them , just get a fold of skin. Even Sasa doesnt have a problem.

Its better if vaccinations are not always given in the neck cos it reduces the risks of a vaccine site cancer.

Hope she is fully recovered now  :hug:

Thats the thing, while he was checking her over she was lapping it up, all sweetness and light, purring away and rubbing upto him, the minute he tried to scruff her neck to give the injection she turned into this psychotic howling banshee  :rofl:

The injection is generally given in the neck because there is a lot of loose skin there (and the cat can't turn that easily to bite the vet. But as long as it was given subcutaneously (as opposed to going direct into a muscle) it doesn't really matter where it goes. I presume the rump was the only bit of exposed Biscuit at the time - they can object violently to that sort of thing the little dears !

Hi everyone - hope you all had an enjoyable christmas.

I just wanted to clear something up in my own mind with you guys. Biscuit went for her boosters today, she had a general checkover and the vet was very pleased with her, very healthy he said and a beautiful set of teeth on her. Then when it came to giving her the injection Biscuit got abit violent so we had to use the old towel trick. I've never heard Biscuit use such language before haha. Anyway after much struggling the vet managed to inject her in the rump area. I always thought injections were given in the neck/shoulder area. Is there a specific area for injections to work better?

Biscuit is total over it now, being sleeping all afternoon which she does normally when its too cold and wet to go out.
