Well we need a new door panel to allow one to be fitted so I'm going to get da nice window man to cut the appropriate hole before the panel goes in.  Should take about 5 minutes to fit the flap that way, but I need to make sure I've bought the right one first!  I'm going to measure some of the holes and make up some mock 'holes' out of cardboard to see which size I need!

but it hasn't exactly got a rave review

eeerm, more of a comment on the handyman skills of the installer than on the product   Mine is also a staywell, their usual size but otherwise identical.

While the installation took 2.5 hours, that included numerous breaks for tea, food, computer checks, whatever. THREE HOURS - what, were they doing it lefthanded with the other hand tied behind their back and a blindfold on???

I found it quite easy to install, despite using a jigsaw for the first time. It only rattles when the cats are flying through it or Smidgen is trying to break out in the middle of the night - which I consider an advantage as I can monitor their activities ...

Yes definitely - fortunately mine is over the utility room sink so it's not as gross, but I still don't really want a window open all day - plus of course they have no flexibility at all when we are not there!

Will have a hunt around for a suitable 'larger' catflap/dogflap - thanks.

Edit: this is the only big cat one on zooplus, but it hasn't exactly got a rave review  http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/cats/cat_flaps_nets/cat_flaps/staywell/13611

Although this one looks a bit bigger than normal:

I think I'm going to have to stoop to visiting a pet shop to prod about at some  :evillaugh:

probably the one designed for small dogs (maltese terrier types). I have just (today) installed a catflap for mine and it is quite a small opening. It was the standard size for cat flaps (I know cos I read the sizing on the packs to see if I could get one that would fit snugly onto the door panel without having to cut into the frame (I couldn't). So with a larger cat (like my old Bob Cat) I would definitely have needed a bigger one. Mine too have been through the window so far but the only suitable window opens onto the kitchen sink and i prefer to discourage them from the counter tops ...

OK I got my baby scales out of the shed today and weighed the furries...Geoffrey (the handsome ginger chap at the front of the bath  :evillaugh:) came in at 7.23kg

Does he look particularly overweight to you or is he just a big boy??

No way! He's gorgeous  :Luv: He's just a big strong lad - and a very handsome one, too! :) Milly looks so cheeky peeking over the bath rim! :evillaugh: I love her white whiskers - great pics, and a beautiful pair of furries :Luv2:

That's a relief then!  He does eat so much more than Milly, but then he's almost twice her weight!

I love my big bath too  :Luv2: :naughty:
