Esther keeps her autumn leaf collection in the tent. and Smidgen occasionally stockpiles toys in there ...

Mind you, there are two things Bertie likes to see in his tent even less than blankets - Bella and Minnie

Nope, Lexy was the same, no blankie inside the tent or claw comes out. I think its that they lose height in there.

Exactly the same happened here Gill!  As you can see from the pic, Bertie tends to crouch uncomfortably in the tent so we put his blanket in it - and he just crouched on the floor outside the tent looking miserable until we took it out!

Ah, ok peeps, thanks!  I'll leave it out all the time, then :) I spose the worst they can get from a flexible stick is a smacked ar$e!

It's really nice, actually, cause up til now Shanti had her bags, Meesha had her drawers, but there was nothing 'special' for Sabby ... now he has the cat tent, bless him  :Luv:

Mosi jumps on top of it and causes it to collapse on a daily basis and there have been no injuries yet!

Its out all the time and they tend now to pay in it only if I have a tempting long peacock feather, this is the current fave game  ;D

we know what you mean catjane, but the advice remains the same. The strut only snaps back cos there is nothing between it and the back of the tent. If there is a cat there, the worst that will happen is a minor panic on the part of the affected cat, but because the strut is flexible and relatively weak (compared to a cat in full flight) there is no danger apart to the affected cat's dignity. Mine do this to each other all the time, and no harm done.

Ah I didn't explain that well, what I mean is, when Shanti jumps up on the front, the strut doesn't fall out of its housing, it stays there, but the whole thing 'snaps' and folds down and back, against the back of the tent, so that the strut piece ends up firmly wedged in a vertical position from top to bottom at the back!  The tent itself ends up folded in on itself, if that makes sense?  So what I'm worried about is if one of the others is at the back of the tent, and the strut snaps back against them, possibly trapping them between it and the back of the tent.

Whilst Lexy is not the type to destroy her tent apart from shred the netting, Pippa often turns the tent over and has dismantled the whole thing (and I mean OFTEN) and tent has done well and she's never been hurt. The strut isn't heavy enough to do damage of that kind.

smidgen reularly jumps on it when Esther is in it, and while it does occasionally collapse, the strut itself is flexible and I don't regard it as a threat to life or limb.

Well, it was a success! Sabby absolutely loves it, and has tried to spend as much time in it today as possible!  The girls like it too, but Shanti being Shanti decided that it's much more fun to oust the other two by jumping on TOP of it!  Problem is, when she jumps up close to the front, the supporting strut collapses against the back of the tent, and I'm worried it's going to trap or hurt one of the others   Which means that I'm only going to be able to let them use it when I'm around to supervise *sigh* - unless I somehow, miraculously, train Shanti out of jumping on top of it ...

Anyone else had this problem?
