Thanks very much folks

Brushed Baggins' teeth and gums last night - he was as good as gold, and sat there purring  :Luv2:

Fingers crossed this will do the job.

Glad to hear the boys are fine  ;D

Don't worry about not noticing his gums, our furries don't let us fiddle with their mouths at the best of times, so its often hard to see if there's a dental problem lurking

Glad the boys are OK after their visit  :)  Have you heard of plaque off?  Might be an alternative to mouth to hand combat  :evillaugh:

and a massive welding glove  :evillaugh:

LOL just as I thought... We had to spray clean Oliver's ears every other day for 3 weeks that was bad enough... don't you wish you were Dr. Dolittle at certain moments?

Good luck and happy teeth cleaning!! ;)

How are you planning to clean his teeth?  I am afraid they won't be overjoyed at the idea

Well pleased to hear this Carl. The boys are a personal fave of mine :Luv:

he is a BIIIIIIG framed cat.

erm.... Lexy is a SMALLL framed cat.... she just fat! :evillaugh: be grateful that's not what he said!

Thanks very much Ruth

I feel guilty as hell about Baggins' mouth though, however slight. I should have seen it.

He was funny at the vets - he was rolling around on the table purring, then went to explore the room, rubbing his little face on everything, rumbling away. Poor Bilbo on the other hand just tensed and tried to hide, he gets really nervous when we take him.

Bilbo and Baggins' MOT ...
« Reply #1 on: December 15, 2007, 10:25:13 AM »
Took both of my boys to the vets for their annual booster/check up/MOT/service today. All was well I'm happy to say. They were prodded, poked, flexed and fettled. I was concerned about Baggins' weight, but he weighed in at 6.2kg which the vet said was ok - he is a BIIIIIIG framed cat. Bilbo weighed in at a trim 5kg, I reckon that's his fighting weight.

The only thing the vet noticed was Baggins' gum looked slightly red, so I've got cat toothpaste and a dental thimble to clean his teeth. I felt really guilty when he mentioned it, but the vet said that I wouldn't have noticed it anyway, it was so slight. Didn't make me feel any better mind.

They're both sleeping here now purring away  :)
