FIP advice needed on CatChat please

How did 10 manage to get it, they were not mixed were they?

How did 10 manage to get it, they were not mixed were they? I have known 2 or 3 that have been in our care in about the last 10 years.  (although I have heard of loads of others). All must have come in with it as none of our 'normal' cats are ever mixed.

Its a  disease with only one out come.

I am very conscious that I am lucky to know nothing about this ghastly disease and my heart goes out to those of you who do.

I wish I knew nothing about FIP, I couldnt read articles on it for ages after loosing Tig, but realised I could help people if I did.

That is not a bad thing as you won't have come across it. It is a horrible disease and one of the many reasons why Cats Protection do not advocate mixing cats from different situations.

I know nothing about this subject but I know that several of you guys do - could I please direct you to that thread?
