I found this quote by the Scotish novelist James Barrie :
"Those who bring sunshine into the lives of others, cannot keep it from themselves."I guess that for me it's equally valid the other way around as I thank my cats for the joy that they bring into my daily life, it is their influence that keeps me happy and
relatively "stable" with at least one foot firmly one the ground and it's this happiness that I love to share with others.
Here's an example of how they make me laugh. Frankie is such a big heavy cat that his centre of gravity is located close to his posterior area so when he jumps up onto me when I'm stretched out on the sofa he has to lay down lengthwise along one of my legs and I have to support him by wedging my arm against the back of the sofa and supporting him with my hand whilst stroking his tummy and giving chin tickles with my other free hand. The other evening I thoughtlessly removed my arm and he wobbled a bit like a jelly and then unceremoniously topped over onto his back with a "shooooooooooof" noise and ended up lying next to me with all four legs in the air and a very indignant look on his face his embarrassment not aided by me being convulsed in laughter
