If hes not eating the whiskas then i wouldnt worry going against the advice, although you could try the whiskas pouches.

I wouldnt leave wet food down for long periods of time as it goes off and when the weather is warmer will get maggots very quickly

When offering new foods dont do too many at once incase his stomach is sensitive!
I would try whiskas/felix pouches first and then the premium brands

Oh talking of flies one has just buzzed in :what:

I have to say my lot all hate whiskas and really wouldn't thank you for it.

It might be worth experimenting with different brands first (Felix in single serve foil tins goes down VERY well in our house).

As long as he is eating I wouldn't worry too much and I' sure with a bit of trial and error you'll soon find what he likes.

If you want a really good selection of different types of cat food why not have a look at Zooplus .... (if you follow this link from the bottom of the page then Purrs will get commission on all purchases http://www.zooplus.co.uk/cj/-410/shop/cats )  you can buy lots of the tins / pouches in small quantities and they have a huge variety to try.  They also do dry food in small bags so you can try them out as well.
Thanks sam, i was just a bit concerned as the sanctuary have percifically said to feed him whiskers! but i might buy a few of the felix ones aswell and have at look at zooplus.

In ancient times cats were worshiped as gods; they have not forgotten this.

Although my Oliver hoovers up just about anything and everything, from what I heard from our friends and acquaintances, it is quite common for cats to be very picky about brands and flavours, there are some cats who would ONLY eat a certain flavour from certain make of a certain brand.  So I think at this stage you should experiment with smallish containers of many different variations and determine what he prefers.  Most of dried food are also nutritionally balanced so if he eats them you shouldn't be worried.  As he is still a new arrival to you, some trials and errors are expected!!  Hope you find what he likes soon!
Yes thanks for that !  I was told at the sanctuary that they are feeding the cats on whiskers in Jelly but so far hes not to fussed for it !  he much prefers the complete dry cat food !  so is it ok if he only eats the complete dry cat food ?  will he get enough nutrients from it?... and how many meals a day should i put out for him with the dry food 2/3 ?   :) :scared:
