Sorry to hear your rotten news.  However if you are being made redundant then your employers have a duty to allow you time off to attend interviews.  They haven't shown too much consideration for you so I would certainly put myself first and start applying for jobs.  Good luck

That was pretty much what I was going to say too BC - Lisa, you need to look out for yourself. Now may not be the best time to look, but put yourself first for a while as you need to protect your interests!

I know thats what I thought.. !

Its kinda hard at the mo as they havent actually given us a date. We have has a 'Proposed' date of 31st Jan 08 but we have nothing in writing as yet. I can't really start going for interviews untill I know or it will mess everyone around. I bet they confirm it to us 2 weeks before  :-:

Leo is running around like nothing has happend ! I don't think he feels a thing which is good.

Whole office is being made redundant due to them relocating to Chester where its allot bigger. Makes sence ££ wise as its so much cheaper .  So all of us are laid off.

Im sure something will come up its just a bit worrying now I have a Mortgage on my own

Brilliant Lisa!!  Now it is all over and done with, put on a santa hat and get ready for the Christmas fun now woohoo!! :xmas 8:
Isn't there any chance that your employers may change their minds about redundancy as you are obviously doing such a great job??

In any case I am so happy that everything went well!!  Hugs and headbutts from me and Oliver!! :Luv:

not so crazy - a good way of keeping performing staff in post until they are ready to relinquish their services. Otherwise all they would be left with would be the staff who can't get work cos they no good. They messing iwth your head girl

Well done Lisa for winning, glad to hear that Christmas is back on for you and Leo xxx  Where do you work (if you dont mind me being nosy) my sisiter works in car sales and they win capital bonds and incentive bonuses.

Only 20 minutes to go now

I look after 180 Pubs ! There are incentives every day in Dec which I plan on winning as many as I can of  :evillaugh:  The prizes range from IPods, MP3's, there was a bike the other day.. its really good motivation & I wish it would of been like this from the start ! Redundancy in Jan & they have only just started giving targets ! Crazy

arrrrrrrrrrrrrr I wrote the whole post out, minimized it while I went into the kitchen.. came back in & gone.. ! Leo suspiciously close on the sofa !

I wont go into as much detail but heres the lowdown !

Police shut one of the lanes on the dual carriage way so I had an agonising journey home !

We have now been home for a few hours, he has eaten, been to the toilet & jumped around.. full of beans.. His trouser dept looks a bit red but the lady I spoke to said they don't stich or use glue? Mind you they are only small !!

Im glad to be back home with him again !  He was purring his little head off when I gave him din dins !   :Luv2: :Luv2:

I tried to post earlier but it wasn't happening.

That was pretty quick!  I sometimes think it's better for them to stay at the vets a bit longer, tbh, so that you can be sure the anaesthetic has pretty much worn off by the time they get home.  Best off at the vets than bumping into furniture at home!  I know I'd never have been able to stop Mosi from trying to jump on things, but I didn't collect him til about 4.30pm and by then he was full of beans and showing no after effects of having had an anaesthetic.

Dont feed him too much tonight or he could be sick !
Just give him something light and not too much of it to start with. He will be hungry so will blot it down but will then prob bring it back up

If he keeps the first lot down give him some more later xxxx

Bless him I felt awful everytime I walked into kitchen this morning.. he ran over then ran to where his food normally is.. gave me that "Mummy where my food?" look...

Fingers crossed the time goes quickly for me !

And Sheryl's right - no stitches.  It's a very quick and easy procedure.

Its all glue nowadays :) Did you know superglue was developed for exactly that reason, for its use in battlefield injuries :)

I don't think they even use glue for a neuter.  There is very little bleeding and I think it just heals fine by itself without the need of glue or stitches.

He'll be fine, bless him, but I know that won't stop you worrying   The worst part for him will be the lack of food!  6pm seems rather early - are they operating at the crack of dawn?!  ;D  I only had to withold food from about 9/10pm the night before so Mosi was allowed supper as normal (just a little bit earlier) and only had to miss breakfast.  He came home and bounced out of his carrier like nothing had happened. And Sheryl's right - no stitches.  It's a very quick and easy procedure.

Earlier in the thread we wer talking about separation axiety.. I laughed to myself earlier & thought 'its me who has it not Leo !!!'

prob me guilty there too- if i wake up and theyre not there ill get up to check them, just to remind them i exist  ;D

lucifer follows me and used to do the communal peeing thing, he does it with everyone who doesnt close the door quick enough tho  :evillaugh: that said there are times he just sits in the door yawning and looking bored like ive woken him up to "help me"
i get a chorus of constant shouting from both if im in the kitchen- even if im just washing up. if i go to bed and he doesnt notice he wanders round whineing until he can see im in bed then hell wander off again. but theres been nights ive felt like im being told to go to bed because he wants me out of the way  :shify:

spare cat just shouts at me 70% of the time. ive no idea what about, i thought it was food  but shell do it straight after ive fed her  :-:
my personal theory is that they think were abit simple and feel that we cant manage without them giving us step by step instructions and reminders

re the chop i got the distinct impression that lucifer felt the starving bit was by far the worst bit. i still dont think he's noticed the missing baubaus yet!

I'll be thinking of you and the gorgeous Leo tomorrow, I was a bundle of nerves when mine were "done" but Raffiki was absolutely fine, came home and ate a huge meal and then carried on as if nothing had happened.  I didnt realize that the vets dont give boys a "full" anasthetic (sp) for neutering and that is why they come round so much quicker that girls.

He wont have any stitches (not unless your vet is 90 ) and when Raffi came home all he had left was like 2 little peas.  We were aloud to feed up until 9pm.

Thank you  ;) Thats great if he doesnt have stitches..

I have a birman stalker and if I slip out of back door he will rush up to the greenhouse just in case I am going to get the chair out and then he can sit on me

He is like a little shadow at present and lying on Misas desk next to me, if I go into the kitchen he will be right behind and shouting.....how do I have the nerve to change rooms!

I am sure Leo will be fine although I do think 6 is a bit early to take away his food,,,,vets!

He will be home before he gets time to eat but if you think they may feed him , I would take his food and tell them if they feed him, they must use this food cos his tummy gets upset otherwise.

I used to tape instructions to the carrier as well amd also put a name on the food incase they all get separated.........sigh

I am sure he wil be fine tomorrow but you may have a loud night and hope you have eaten

Lisa, calm down.... he will be okay!!  And I don't think any food is necessary, he will be too groggy to eat anything while recovering and waking up from the anesthesia.  Fill him up with all his favourites when he is home and fully awake!!
And he won't hate you as long as you don't tell him what you really have dohe to him  ;)
Good luck tomorrow!!

If he is on a special diet you should tell them. If it is prescribed they should already know about it. If you have any concerns, then take it with you and make sure they know it is there. I am sure they will understand.
