Bertie and Bella are both really clingy, Lisa - whichever room of the house I'm in, they're there too, and if they lose sight of me, they cry.  Luckily we have no separation anxiety problems as they've got each other (and Minnie) when I'm out, but part of my reason for adopting Bella was that Bertie hated being alone.  Good luck for tomorrow

I dont think there is anything to be worried about Lisa

I would however think about a play mate for him (i know you were talking about that some weeks ago). Some single cats can get very lonely, it wouldnt have to be another Pred - I would just go for a moggie kitten.

Also his hormoans will be starting to kick in now too - I would get him "done" as soon as poss

failing that - the offer of him coming to live here is still open  :evillaugh: :evillaugh: (well i gotta keep trying )

I was seriously considering getting another cat (rescue prob) but at the moment I need to secure a job before I commit to another.. also im not sure I have the room in the bathroom for another litter tray ! Leo is going to need an even bigger one soon.. & the one he has is an extra large !

He is all booked in for Friday for the chop.. not looking at all forward to it.. i will prob cry leaving him more than he will !

Lirael the burmese follows me everywhere and meows loudly when I'm in the house but she can't get to me.

Normally she's at the top of the kitchen cabinets when she's doing this.

Went into the living room last night to get something when I opened the door to come back into the kitchen I had 5 cats waiting for me.

No I read about the separation anxiety.. although its simular he is fine if im out.. whenever I walk in he clambers out from wherever he has been sleeping with a big fat yawn ! I have even come home mid day before now when I had half day & the same - asleep !

I think he is a very nosey cat & that he has to see everything I do.. !  It may be worth getting another cat but with redundancy looming its prob not a good idea to add to my outgoings..

Hopefully in new year I will get this job working from home - lush !

I would only be concerned if he shows signs of separation anxiety when you leave him.  Much as we love or kitties, it isn't always in their interests for them to bond so closely to us that they can't cope when we have to leave them.  But it sounds as though Leo just loves his meowmy  ;D  Jaffa often follows me around.

Of course, if you're worried you could always get another cat.......  ;)  ;D

Phew ! Glad to know there are other feline stalkers out there ! Half of me thinks its also because I have spoilt him rotten since I got him.. He is defo No1 in my household.. he will ALWAYS come before me !

I had to pop to Argos the other night after work as I got in & he had chewed yet another PC cable ! (I always turn sockets off) but had covered the cables with a towel - which he wised up to ! Anyway I left the flat & realised that that was the 1st time I have been anywhere of an evening during the week !  My frinds think I am crazy !

He perhaps just loves you Lisa  :Luv:

Also to take into account is...how else can he find out whether or not you're doing anything involving Tuna or Chicken  :shify:?? A kitten must make sure  :evillaugh:

Mine go crazy if I sing - can it be the voice?

My Oliver just go in hiding at the furthest possible point of our home if I sing, and that is one of the very few occasions he keeps himself away from me. ;)
99% of the time he is my little shadow, too, and he whinges loudly if I am not looking at him or touching him.
I think Leo is a perfectly normal big baby Lisa, don't worry be happy! ;D

Esther cries if we all go off to bed and she misses the moment, but once she knows where we are happily curls up and sleeps downstairs. Smidgen shrieks with outrage if kept out of places he wants to go, but no, I think I would be a little concerned about how he might behave when I am not there (and how the neighbours might feel) if he does it to that extent...

Mine are not Maine Coons but they still follow me all round my flat and let the whole world know about it if I don't let them in :)

I'm lucky in that the boys don't get on the worktops when I am in the kitchen but will think that if I'm in the kitchen then it must be dinner time

I don't know if to be concerned ? UPDATE LEO's CHOP !
« Reply #1 on: December 04, 2007, 19:50:43 PM »
Leo is so clingy to me. He follows me absolutely everywhere. If I go to the loo, he will run after me & always go to the toilet too (Litter tray in there). If I go into the kitchen to cook I always shut the door as its not the biggest of kitchens & he will always meow to get onto the worktop to see what I am doing! He will sit right at the top of his cat tree which is near the kitchen door & he whines so loud that my neighbours must think he is in pain !

Just now he has walked into the bathroom & he is just meowing..at what I don't know.. (Usually if its in the bathroom he is anouncing to anyone that will listen that he is going for a number 2 !) I think this part of it is because he is more than ready to be nutered.

The crying when I am out of his sight is worrying.. Should I be worried or are other cats like this ? I read lots before I got him that Maine Coons tend to follow their owners but he is my resident stalker !

As long as he ok of course I don't mind.. but needed to check if there was anything I should worry about !?

Thank you x

Oh also not relevant but if I sing he goes absolutely mental.. runs around jumps up his cat tree & looks at me very strange !!!!
