I utilised a fairly new rabbit hutch into a cat shelter. I removed the wire mesh front and put a piece of wood covering two thirds of the gap to make it more enclosed. There's a cushion in there and a food bowl for when my oldest tom feels at his most anti-social in the summer!

I got the liner, but not the duvet.  I just put one of their blankets in and then regularly change it.  Mine did have the cat flap on, but they broke that one day   but it doesn;t deter them from using it and I think some of them use it more now without the flap.

There is always a cat in it.

I might get one of those Leslie. Is it worth getting the liner and/or the duvet?.
I can't imagine Kylie spending loads of time in it but there are plenty of mild days when she has to stay in because it's raining and I think she would love it.

I was looking online and these seem to be the cheapest @ £58.75 with free delivery - works out cheaper than any of the ebay sellers.

I have been looking at the kennel type ones, the Mr Snugs one and the trendy-looking ones - just need to make my mind up. it's just for Kylie when it's raining but not cold as she likes to survey her territory.

I just got an email back. He sounds like a really nice person. He produced them as a prototype for a pet company who wanted to make them but he hasn't heard from them for 6 months. He said funnily enough, he donated the last 2 to St. Helens CP branch this morning  - He said they are easy enough to make with a storage box but he is speaking to a local plastics company about producing them. They will be sold for £10 - £20

I think thats exactly what the first one is  Just has a cat flap put in, didnt look at the cost though and could be edactly what Claire Hirsh needs with her scared limpy stray.

For £50 you can get a nice wooden dog kennel that will last and not look all plasticcy.

The Zooplus kennels are well made, solid and mega easy to put together. The wood is nice quality, not rough sawn similar to what garden centres sell.

Saw this today as I am looking for something for Kylie as she loves spending time in the garden. She shelters under bushes etc but it would be nice for her to have a shelter for when it's raining.
