Bluecat ... I'm sure any local rescue near you would be happy to take any surplus off your hands as it isn't "speical diet" food.

Yes im sure the way its going may as well build up the stock a bit more first though  :censored:

In ancient times cats were worshiped as gods; they have not forgotten this.

someone is apparently going to ring me and come and take most of it in 2 weeks time so fingers crossed. OH is on at me for 'stockpiling' but my boy needed it at the time and I didn't know how long he'd have to eat it for - so probably did go a bit mad. I do really hope that it can help others. I know how well my little Swamp did on it. It seems good food for building them back up when they've been very poorly.

My surplus stocks are building so far box of hig life, small bag of wiskas dry, half a dozen teso tuna pouches and a now a box of tesco luxury any takers lol  :evillaugh:

I do hope you find a good home for it, it will be so sad if it goes to waste

AFAIK they are in Devon? I'll check to see if they have a London branch.

Have you tried cinnamon trust? I think they are london based  :-: they regularly take in older cats so may have more use for it.

Everyone who knows the history knows that when Hills discontinued their prescription L/d wet food (liver diet: beef), I was in a desperate state as Swampy needed it to stay healthy/ier and I couldn't get it at all and everything else made him sick. Helen so kindly helped me out with a few weeks' supply. Then I discovered it was still available in France so brought a lot of it back from there, thinking I'd have enough for a year of Swamp's life. However, his needs changed and now he's on prescription kidney food and i/d (but I don't regret the stockpiling, as who knows....). I want to keep some in case his liver flares up again, but the expiry date of the trays I have got is July 2008.
I rang around and emailed rescues I saw on Cat Chat but no-one seems to want the food. I rang Celia Hammond's rescue org in Lewisham and a young girl who answered said maybe, took my no but they haven't rung back. (I will contact them again). I can't bear it to go to waste when I know that somewhere someone could use the food for either sick or elderly cats. It would have to be the London area though for transport reasons, but I want to give it to whoever needs it.
Can anyone help please? I was going to put this post in the donations for rescues section, but it seems that it's not read or posted in as much as here.
