I was really shocked too, I remembered when I took Hobbes in he had to skip the dinner the night before and his brekky the morning, and he went in in the morning. This surgery opens at 15, which means he can't eat after his lunch the day before!! I thought I may have mistaken as I am not exactly perfect with the Italian language, but Cristiano confirmed what I thought I heard.
I am thinking about checking around with other vets... we went to this one because it was the closest from our flat, but frankly I didn't really care for this vet he didn't seem at all like a cat person and he had a very inpersonal approach with Oliver, he didn't even seem to know how to hold him still while giving him a jab and asked BOTH of us to help holding him down. (in the end though, Ollie was very good, he didn't make any scene albeit being very nervous and tight.) I will have a talk about it with a friend nearby with a plenty of experience with cats just to make sure!
