Finally Ollie learned to climb DOWN the step ladder!!  As we are still adding the finishing touch to our new flat, our ladder is often out.  He would always gleefully hop up to the top, and like a typical cat up on a tree he would start to cry out not knowing how to get down...  Though I don't mind picking him up and set him down safely each time our ladder has a wide step and I thought surely he could manage like a big athletic boy.  So I tried luring him with handful of Pounce treat that he adore, to this he couldn't resist, slowwwwly slowwwly he came down the step, all the way to the floor!!  Now I got the camera ready for the second run, this time he came down even without the treat!!

Now I kept shooting a few more and some came out very cute... seems like he is learning to be more photogenic, too these days  :wow:

Here he is looking up at the ribbon toy, I love his expression when he is looking up.

Here he is calling out "chirrrp, chirrrp, chirrrp" at the ribbon, thinking it to be a bird

Ollie doing his own understanding of workout with my barbell, flashing his cheeky winky

And the last and the best... his ever growing luscious tummy up close and personal!!  :evillaugh:

Alfie made me a lovely cup of tea and some cheese on toast yesterday whilst Frankie was busy hoovering the flat from top to bottom and Suzie was doing the ironing. :evillaugh: if only sigh.

They are both just the sweetest lil things generally :Luv: :Luv: Skye has had lots of "firsts" of late - first time getting into bed with me, first attempt to lie on my laptop, first attempt to wake me for breakfast (by licking my eyelids), learning to scratch on the cat tree.  ;D Riley has been his usual self - and when he is not thumoing and chasing poor Skye around the place, has taken to her really well - he gives her kisses, sleeps beside her at the top of our bed, and cries for her to come play :)

Oliver is also getting much better at being brushed.  Not that he needs a whole lot, he is a shorthaired boy, but he is still shedding a lot before the winter, or maybe in the process of growing the adult fur.  We picked up the "combing mitt" a week ago, which totally freaked him out first.  But one day I got him with the mitten while he was half asleep, and before he could figure out what was going on he figured out it felt rather good. ;)  Last night he actually arched his back while I was at it as if to say "oooooh, aaaahhh, feels gooood", turning this way and that way so I can get the thorough job done!! ;D
Em maybe it is a bit more tricky with longer haired kitties like Polly, but if you are gentle enough and do it with patience, she will grudgingly admit it is actually rather nice!!  I think she is slowly getting there already, keep up the good work!! :briggin:

On Friday when I got back from work I went round the back of the house and spied Fregus sat on the sofa, so knocked on the patio doors. He heard the noise and could obviously see something (it was dark in and outside), but after about 20 seconds you could see his expression change as he realised it was me and he rushed over and flopped over by the window wanting a tummy tickle  :Luv:

Yesterday I managed to give Polly her hairbrushes without having to hold her, she wasn't loving it mind you, just about tolerating it, but it's a start!!

I love the way Rosie plays with my Son, she waits around the corner then ponces on him, then runs away. He chases her, so she hides - a classic game of hide and seek. She is so gentlle with him, NEVER uses her claws when playing with either of us.

She waits for him outside his bedroom door in the mornings for him to get up, won't leave him alone and if he is sitting down watching television, will tap him on his leg and run away wanting to play! She will also drag his soft toys from his bedroom and plonk them on his lap as gifts.

Like others have said, everyday is special with her around!

yes they do - I had sixty fits the first time as there was blood in the kitten's mouth and i thought it must have bitten down hard on something nasty, but it was just a tooth going walkies. You may occasionally find the odd tooth embedded in something if you have sharp eyes.

Every day they are special!  :Luv:  At the moment I am really enjoying Shanti coming up to bed with me, and once I'm settled watching a bit of TV or reading before I sleep, she gives me a 'massage', then settles down with her little head tucked under my chin, or with her cheek right next to mine, purring like a tractor!  :Luv: :Luv: :Luv:

Sabby was funny the other day ... well, he's funny every day, he's a funny cat, but anyway, I bought a new carrier as he has become FAR too big to share with either of the girls.  He absolutey HATES the carrier, so I did the dutiful thing and left it open in the middle of the floor in a somewhat vain hope of him going near it.  Shanti investigated immediately, but to my utter surprise, Sabby turfed her out, and has since claimed it as his own!!!  (which, of course, it is!). He's been using it to sleep in ever since .... YAY!  ;D

I also noticed that Ollie started to take a few sips of water out of his bowl a couple of times within a couple of days.  Which was also the first time I noticed it!  I suppose it is because the air in the house is getting drier as the heater got turned on in the evenings and mornings.

He is increasingly bold and unbothered while I exercise, he hangs about right around me during the session and supervises me to make sure I get all the moves right... then today while I was doing my abdominal work on the floor he decided to sit on my chest... well I take it as a motivational gesture on his side to make me work harder!! :evillaugh:

Trevor rang me at work in a panic asking for the Vet's phone number.  Apparently Spike had pushed his foot through the letterbox and had hurt himself trying to get it out.  It was a bit of a panic to start with but apart from a swollen foot he is ok.  Silly boy.

Maxy made me laugh a lot today,  I was changing the bedding and putting the electric blanket back on the bed, with the fleecy one on top to make it comfy ........ he plonked himself right in the middle and sat there purring, so we had a little cuddle mid-duvet change  :Luv:

If you count 12.30am as today, then I had Zia on my right hand side, and Molly on my left, both under the duvet, purring - sadly didn't help me sleep, but felt nice. They are both on the bed looking at me, it is nice to have cats that want to spend time with you, but I can sit on the sofa on my own, and certainly will be doing next week, Rosie is really the only one who sits on your knee.

Lexy does little things every other day or so to show me she trusts me.  Tonight she climbed on the table to steal the box of catnip, knocked it to the floor and used her nose to nudget it along. Its a small thing but huge for Lexy who never really steals anything.

Bit of a feel good thread...  What has your cat done today to make you go aaah or beam with pride?

I'll start:

I'm on nights tonight so went to bed for an evening nap.  No sooner was I in bed than Riley jumped up on the bed, worked his way under the covers and lay next to me with his little head resting on the pillow.  Needless to say I didn't get any sleep as I was in awe looking at his gorgeous little face  :)  He lay there purring his little head off looking so peaceful and content  :)

Not only this but for the first time EVER tonight Lukey drank some water.  He's never drunk water before, only kitty milk so I'm very proud of little Lu - all grown up  :)
