Fortekor finally working after 2 months?

It's strange that I didn't notice how pale his gums were until I saw them pink 
Tonight he is back to his old ways with his head in the bowl before I can empty the pouch

Y es I thought that it does sound like he must have been anaemic.

That's brilliant news Mark, am so pleased for you both    Definately worth mentioning to the vet about his gums being noticably pinker, he may have been slightly anaemic before.

That's not to say he eats it all! - he is very selective, sometimes he justs licks the gravy, other times he will lick the bowl clean (he hadn't done that for a long time until this week) After having roast chicken yesterday, he won't eat at all today but I think he is playing me 

Anyway, it's there if he wants it - I know that he can't have chicken all the time.

His fur is finally growing back so it's a shame they will have to shave him again for bloods

Aww, fingers crossed that the vet is happy with him next month and that his bloods show some sign of improvement. That does sound like an awful lot of food though - did the vet check his thyroid?

Clapton was diagnosed with moderate CRF about 2 months ago and prescribed Fortekor and a prescription diet. He refuses to eat the food but he will eat Whiskas senior. I have been getting worried that he isn't his old self and very nervous. Over the last few days he has improved a lot and something I didn't notice before but his gums are a lot pinker. He is due for bloods in about a month so fingers crossed, it is under control. Is it normal for improvement to take this long? -  I can't believe the difference in him - he is back to chasing leaves in the garden and has discovered the joys of skidding around our new wood floor!!  (and back to eating 5-6 pouches a day + chicken and fish!!)
