Could she be deaf/hard of hearing?

My Gnarla (RIP) was deaf and not very vocal with it....her miaow was weird also....Im wondering if she was deaf from birth as opposed to going deaf as she was 15 when I got her and have'nt a clue?

Tried everything and she seemed to hear me clapping at her!! She nearly jumped out of her skin so I had to give her a cuddle and... I had a first! She purred and nuzzled me when I picked her up!

So I dont think she is deaf! Just not a scaredy cat!

....or they go really quiet and silent miaow at you.  Have you tried rattling some keys behind her head (where she can't see them).

The way I knew for sure that Swamp had gone deaf was when I could vacuum right under his chair without him moving. The vacuum cleaner was the world's most terrifying monster before that!! (lucky it doesn't come out too often lol).  He also sleeps more deeply and I read that it can be dangerous to wake them up, esp if they are oldies.

Oooh I'll try that! Maybe she is just ignorant to me when I call her? Had her since January this year.

My Elsa went deaf as she got older, which was a blessing in a way, because she used to be scared of fireworks.

Have you had her since being a kitten? If so I think you should of noticed from then, I think their balance may not be too good at first (?)

Do you see her ears move if you make the "puss puss" noise?

Try claping you hands together and see what her reaction is.

There are plenty of fireworks going off around me and they are pretty noisy ones at that! Menue doesnt seem a bit phased by it and was even in the window with me watching them 

I just wonder if she could be deaf? She hardly meeows/makes a noise (dont know if it could be linked?) and doesnt respond to me when I call her, only if I look at her and move my fingers.
