What I've actually found is that the more the scabs dry up and fall off, the less it itchy Pearl is. Touch wood, they're nearly all cleared up now.

She's got evening primrose oil supplements as well.

Hmmmmmmmm I was wondering about that but Witty said it stopped the itching so Pearl did not scratch so much but I know with my skin , the drier it is the worse I itch.

wondering if grooming powder (which presumably dries up excessive oil in the coat) is the best idea? A drying agent will just exarcerbate the problem from what I can see. How about increasing the oil in the cat's diet (a teaspoon of olive oil on food) or adding an egg yolk maybe once a week...

Just would like to pick your brains really...

Does anyone have a tried and tested method of clearing up scabs really quickly? Also the related issue of a cat nibbling at said scabs.

I know a buster collar would be the best solution but it really isn't an option. Right now, I'm dusting with grooming powder twice a day, but wonder if there are any other methods out there.

Any thoughts?
