Hi Nicky and welcome to Purrs.  I too had a Boxer for 13 1/2 years, my first dog of my own and he was the best friend anyone could wish for.  I would have had a Boxer again but new OH not keen on big dogs, hence the six Jack Russells we have now (the one Golden Retirever we have I rescued from the Vets when he was bought in to be put to sleep).

I think Boxers are just the best and well done for working to help them.

We had our Boxer for over 17 years,to me the most wonderful breed in the world, the most lovable of rogues totally faithful to their stomachs. I remember our Roxine washing my face as a child, stealing my dolly mixtures and running up and down the stairs with the broom, not to mention running off with the Sunday joint. In the right hands this is one of the very best family dogs; I would love another but sadly no longer able to have a dog.

Ah right - he had an aggressive streak though. I think they are nice to look at, but doubt I would own one, I think they would be too high energy. Surprising that Staffies are the most common.

thats juyst a typical boxer, they are all crazy  :wow: :evillaugh:
Id say the most common breeds in rescue now are staffie types and collies, but thats just my area, i think every rescue is having problems with so many staffies though  :(

That is so sad - is that general of all breeds do you know, or are there some that end up in rescue more than others? I haven't met a lot of boxers, and the first one I did meet was inbred and a bit crazy.

This is Skittles, shes 13 now ive had her since she was 5 weeks old a lady by me bred them and her and her sister were the last 2 kittens (god knows how young the rest of the litter were when they went) but she was going to kill the last 2 because she couldnt get rid, we took both and 1 went to live with my aunty. The pair of them are nutters.

Hiya

Im nicky, from liverpool. Only have 1 cat at the mo, Skittles, who is 13, also have 4 boxers, 2 rabbits & a rat.
I work with Boxer Rescue Northern England so most of my spare time is used up on rescue. Might be on the lookout for a kitten soon, but in no rush at the mo, if the right one comes along then there is a space here, but would obviously have to put up with the dogs too.

 ;)
