Hey all - sorry, didn't get chance to respond to anyone's questions till now since my laptop went bonkers on me!!  Minnie is chipped so no problems there - her previous owner had her done and now all the details have been transferred to me ... she also has a collar and ID tag so no excuses for not knowing who she belongs to!!  He doesn't actually know I reported him to the RSPCA, basically because they never followed up my complaint and he had the dog put down of his own accord after it attacked his mother, so I don't think it's a revenge thing - not a single neighbour knows I called the RSPCA so he can't have found out.  I think he's just lonely and a bit strange.  One of my other neighbours just stopped me in the street and said she's had a separate word with him about feeding Minxie and has explained to him how difficult it has been for me to domesticate her and that he's confusing Minnie and making things hard for me by feeding her.  Hopefully that will underline what I said to him the other night.  Minnie is back to her normal appetite today so I'm fairly sure he's stopped feeding her but will be keeping an eye on it!  >:(

I know its hard but can't you keep her in for a few days, a few tins of wasted cat food might change his mind

Sometime it's hard to know whether a cat is owned or stray, but he KNOWS you own this cat, so I agree that he seems to be getting back at you. Does he live on his own? Maybe he should get a goldfish, poor fish!
Cats were once gods; they have never forgotten this, nor have the people they own.

Yip I remember the story of the collie, too.  You did a right thing in my book, this man can NOT be trusted with any animals.  Keep your eyes on your babies, too!!

That's bad, why doesn't he just get his own cat.  He sounds like a nasty man i'd be worried of him puttin something in the food.

He doesn't deserve any animal, i think you've done the right thing letting your local CPL lady know

Sorry I didn't read the thread about his Collie but do you think perhaps he is doing this on purpose to get back at you. I'd be careful and keep Minnie in for a while   >:(

You'll probably remember me posting about my neighbour, who I reported to the RSPCA due to his neglect of his poor border collie, who ended up being taken back to the rescue centre and then being PTS.  Well, I cannot believe what happened today.  Minnie has been acting a bit oddly for a few days - not wanting food at every meal and not wanting to stay in the house all night - and I've been worried she's poorly.  Today, she dashed out of the front door as I was leaving for work and went straight up this neighbour's front path, so I went to investigate - and on his front step was a bowl of cat food!  No wonder she hasn't been seeming hungry!  When I got home, I went straight round to ask him not to feed Minnie and explained that thinking there might be food in his garden is making her want to stay out at night when really she should be indoors because her blindness in one eye makes her more vulnerable in the dark than most cats.  He didn't apologise - just said he didn't think I was looking after her anymore as she seems to be outdoors a lot, so he thought he'd better try and take her in!!! Apparently he quite fancies having a cat now ... I am LIVID and told him in no uncertain terms that he shouldn't have a pet after what happened to the dog, and that most people who want a cat go and find one rather than stealing someone else's!!!  I then emailed my local CPL lady, who I know really well, and told her not to home any cats with him!  I know, I'm a stroppy cow  ;D
