Interesting point, and I dont have any boxes up here to check. I did buy some bran from the health food shop, but not sure she liked that.

Interesting point Mark though my vet did say All Bran, or Bran Flakes etc could be sprinkled on his food if nothing else

I would be curious about what they use for fibre in high-fibre cat food. I would assume it is wheat bran as its the cheapest. It can irritate the bowel. I heard a nutritionist on a radio programme saying people think wheatgerm bread, allbran etc are good as they make you go to the toilet - but in fact it was because they irritate the lining of your bowel and your body tried to expel them  :sick:

I actually opted for feeding Molly a high fibre wet food, as she is very fussy with her food - she gets Perfect Fit Indoor and Asda Tiger Senior, they were the two highest I found in the shops. I did buy some bran from the Healthfood shop first, but she was fussy about it (she is fussy with food, wont touch treats),

Well with a home-made recipe I sometimes use, its 2 teaspoons to about 3lbs of meat, so only a teeny amount needed for a serving I guess.

Physillium husk powder can be added to food for fibre. You can get it from health food shops, or online, healthspan do it, and lots of other places I'm sure http://www.healthspan.co.uk/digestive_health/psyllium_husks_digestive_fibre_300g_tub-c1281857p250.html

Hills Light wet food is quite high in fibre (9.4% fibre based on dry matter).

Thank you Mark and Sam.  will try the website.  It was Royal Canin Mark, maybe I will try the Hills.  It was a sample the vet gave to me.

Most of the ones that are "anti-furball" have added fibre but not sure if it would be enough. Which obesity food was it? I tried Kylie on the Royal Canin but she didn' like it. She loves the Hill's one and had no trouble changing over. I know it has a lot of fibre as if you saw the litter tray after she has been, you would think I had a dog  :evillaugh: - the smell is pretty rancid as well  :sick:

My cat needs to have a high fibre diet.  The vet recommended an obesity food which my cat promptly sicked up.  Anyone know of any commercial available high fibre foods please?
