Yes Chris is right, try an extra tray with a different litter in it and see if she will use that.

Not an expert but I think cats do associate the pain with the tray - we had a similar problem when Gizmo had cystitus but fortunately cleared up within a couple of days.

luna has pooed on the floor next to her litter tray for 3 days now and i DONT KNOW WHY  >:(

1. the tray is always clean ( dont even go doen the too clean rout its not changed scince we got her, i empty and clean every morn and scoop poo out if they do anouther  )
2. i havnt changed the litter
3. i havnt moved the tray
4. i havnt used owt different to clean it

mango and luna have had runs for 2 wk they are both on antibiotica but the vet says they do not seem porly , they are happy and playing
all i can think is , her bum was a little red , has she had a painfull poo in the tray cause of her sore bum and she has associated this wi the tray ? shes weeing in the tray , just pooing next to it . shes always been very good wi the tray
