Oh and on the subject of cat beds I reckon that there's a subtle con being perpertrated on us cat furniture buying folks. If one looks on pet supplies websites or catalogues there's a picture of little Tiddles curled up in his/her comfy cat bed looking for all the world as if it's the best thing since shredded tweat but if you look elsewhere on the same website or catalogue guess what?, there's another picture of Tiddles stoned out of his/her little head on Catnip. See where I'm coming from?, I reckon that, whilst under the influence, they pop little Tiddles into the catbed, take a quick picture and Voila!! there you go  ;D I bet when the catnip wear off he/she'd be thinking "What the hell am I doing in this crappy thing!?" and be off faster than I can say "Luxury accommodation for your feline friend"  ;D

Cheers

Only one?  :evillaugh:

Depends on the cat size to sheepskin pelt size ratio or "cat-a-pelt" as it's know in the trade  ;D ;D

Hiya,

Well if he doesn't take to it at least it doubles as a rug. I've yet to find any other useful purpose for un-used cat beds other than to give them away to others who probably end up in turn giving them away to someone else. We've all done it haven't we, I know that I have,  bought a lovely- cosy-wosy-snuggly-wuggly-warm bed for our little darlings only for them to take one look, shrug and walk off to find the most unlikely and seemingly un-comfortable spot in the whole place for a kip  ;D.

Cheers

Gosh, those rugs look so snuggly Leigh.  I'm seriously thinking of buying one as the 2 cat beds I've bought remain unused, except for when Oliver decided it was more comfortable to sit in than cat litter, but could be used for the same purpose!

Morning Carl,

They love 'em, I almost lost Alfie in the white rug, he's so sweet, he loves to milk tread it and really snuggles down in the fur of the rug, I think that I saw him licking it the other day, if so, it wouldn't be a surpise as Alfie loves to lick everything, he's always washing Frankie (to Frankie's disgust) and he loves to lick my arms, forehead and cheeks and sometime he nibbles on my beard  ;D

Clare, I'd try a one pelt one, if you decide to get one, they're cheaper and about the right size for one cat and, if not suitable, it'd make an excellent cosy bedside rug which, believe it or not, is why I bought one in the first place  ;D

I've got one more layer of clothing on today and I think I'll take your good advice as I have a "spud" cafe nearby work.

Cheers

Morning hun,

Aren't cats funny, I put the new rug down and Frankie lay down in the middle of it and then Alfie wandered up and biffed him on the top of the head so that HE could have THAT bit of the rug and then Frankie wandered back and biffed Alfie on the head so that HE could have THAT bit of the rug back and eventually they sorted themselves out so that they could EACH have a bit of the rug  ;D. I've seen Alfie do this before when Frankie nicks his favourite spot curled up in the laudry basket, Frankie does this deliberately and Alfie sits perched on the cat activity centre thingy watching Frankie disdainfully and then "BIFF" he smacks him on on the top of the head as if to say "Get out of it, that's my spot!". There's never any trouble it's just their way of sorting things out as five minutes later Alfie's like as not licking Frankie  ;D.

Cat's do seem to love fluffy furry things so a fluffy jumper would seem to fit the bill pretty well. Maybe you should bring him over to me and we could give him a try before you buy on one of my rugs  ;D ;D or take him to the shop "Oh sorry, I'm sure that he didn't mean to shred it, he's usually so well behaved"  :evillaugh:

Still no heating here and got more layers of clothes on than the Michelin Man, hope it's warmer where you are.

Hi Dawn, I got it from BHS, they do a range of sizes and colours, 1 pelt, 2 pelt (like mine) in white (like photo 1), off-white/sandy creamy colour (like photo 2), healthyfood brown and maybe another colour, I can't remember. 1 pelt ones are big enough for one cat but my original rationale for buying two pelt ones was that Frankie and Alfie both loved my one pelt one but couldn't both get on it at the same time especially as Frankie is a BIG cat and I saw Alfie stretched out on it one day with Frankie with just his head on one corner  ;D

Cheers

Leigh

Aw, they're loving their rugs, I think you've definitely got the thumbs up to those purchases hun!

I might have to think about getting one for Maxy boy, although I have a feeling he'd attack it more than sleeping on it   He's been going mental for the fluffy grey jumper I bought at the weekend, so lord alone knows what he'd make of a big rug in the middle of the floor

;D AFAIK they've never peed on them but they sure do like the sheepskin, Alfie milk treads it, guess it reminds him of his mum. I've given more cats beds away over the years than times that my cats have slept in one of them. A permanantly empty cat bed in a smallish flat is just a waste of space and money so sheepskin's got my vote :) and when there's not a cat on it it doesn't look like an abandoned crashed landed spaceship :)

Cheers

OH bought me a lovely double sheepskin a couple of Christmases ago for my side of the bed - keeps my toes toasty warm.  Cats love it.  Jessie's peed on it at least 3 times  >:( it's irresistible to her and it is now on top of the wardrobe awaiting a visit to Mr dry cleaners...it will be v expensive!

Don't know why she does it - just likes the feel I s'pose, like when she peed in the cat beds we bought and the radiator bed :tired: at least she hasn't peed in the carrier that she's now adopted as her day bed given it's next to the radiator and all nice and warm  ;D

Hiya,

Well I reckon that over the years I've spent more on cat beds and they just look at you as if to say "and you want us to sleep on those, yeah right!" so why not have something that doubles as a piece of attractive soft furnishings  ;D

Hi folks,

As you'll remember I recetly bought the boys a new sheepskin rug for them to snuggle up on in the bedroom

Well they loved it so much that they've been retiring to the bedroom after their dinner and spending the whole evening curled up on it and I missed them so I bought another one today for the Living Room and ....

I now own more sheepskin that a North Wales sheep farmer  ;D but a small price to pay as they just love 'em  ;D

Cheers
