Well my other next door neighbour has taken him in,the one who has the 3 legged cat Turbo. Now she is very worried about how Turbo is going to react and therefore she has not commited 100% to having him and is desperate for me to take him but to be honest I just cant afford another cat at the minute but if she really couldn't cope with him then fair enough.
Problem is that Turbo is hissing and growling at him even if he's in the other room and has turned pretty nasty towards my nighbour and scratches her if she even attempts to fuss Turbo. I have given her a dog crate so she can put him in there so turbo can get used to him,is this a good idea? and she brings him out every now and then,he has his litter try and food/water in the cage with him along with a bed and a few toys.
Now are we doing the right thing in introducing them this way? This is how I have always done it with mine but am trying to get this cat to stay with my neighbour as she is such a great woman and Ramses would have the best home with her.
btw Ramses is such a chilled out cat you wouldn't believe,I walked into her house last night and he was asleep on her armchair and he didn't flinch
I will take him in if this doesn't work out but if the hissing/growling thing a sign that turbo is very distressed or will that ease off in time? and how long exactly would you give a cat to settle into a home realisticly? I think my neighbour expects it straight away but in my experience it can take weeks and I am not sure if shes willing to do that
Thanks everyone.
btw Ramses's previous owners just handed him over to the lady and said shes welcome to him
