We have wooden flooring all the way through the rooms downstairs, so when Max comes running through the garden right into the house with wet feet he looks like something out of a cartoon scrambling all over the place, he then runs out the cat flap and does it again and again

The first time we saw him do it I was worried he would hurt himself crashing about, but he seems to have turned it into an Olympic sport

Leo jumps around like a maniac ! up & down his cat tree.. falls off every 54 mins - jumps straight back up again !!! I worry too but he always bounces back !

Thanks guys!!  I feel much better so Ollie is not the only one...I really needed some assurance.... like I said I trust his athletic nature but he does fall in the most awkward positions and a couple of times even banged his noggin...   I guess he is a Robocat...

Our hallway is wood flooring, Max regularly hares out of the kitchen to go upstairs, skids on the floor and his back-end slides out, then you hear mad scrambling to get back in a straight line again 

That sounds like gimley in our hallway hours of amusement to be had by the three boys Phoenix isn't quite as daft she just gives them a look of disgust

Kylie used to do that in my old flat in the hallway but she never learned to apply the brakes and she is a bg girl 

Funnily enough, she doesn't do it on the wood floor in the basement here - maybe as there are other cats, she is being more dignified

jasper runs into walls as he slips on the laminate ALL THE TIME.  he seems to love it.  anything to chase that post-it.  no harm though

they seem to bounce. In my house in Queensland it was all polished floorboards and the cats used to make a game of running onto the hall runner, applying the brakes and ending up in a heap against the spare room door. Never seemed to hurt them and they had a lovely time...

Shadow, then a puppy, used to get tangled in his feet and land on his chin with monotonous regularity - again with no evidence of lasting harm ...

The flooring of the main part of our flat is covered with laminated slats.  (Bedroom has a thick carpet, bathroom non slippery tiles)  These slats are rather slippery for Oliver when he gets really excited while playing, and he slips and slides and falls a lot, it is as if he is playing on an ice skating rink!!   It doesn't seem to faze him the least bit and I know the cats are slightly more athletic and nimble than clumsy humans , but nontheless it gets me worried sometimes that he may hurt himself, he can get so incredibly wacky at times!!  Has anyone heard of any cats getting hurt on a slippery floor?  Should I refrain from getting him to excited on this flooring?  Any input would be appreciated!!
