You are right its very sad but luckily I think this is very rare and hopefully the trial will prove to be helpful for any other cats that have this in the future

Its good to hear he happened to be part of the trial at the right time-but to think of all the others that may be missing out is sooo saad!!

He seems to be still having treatment but also has been a lucky cat cos was picked up as part of a trial and it seems that this blood test that discovered it, is not available to cats outside the trial

acro-megaly - from the greek high (as in acro-phobia - fear of heights) and megalos- large or great as in megalomania. Presumably to describe the unusual largeness of the sufferer's head?? Interesting word ...
