Wonder where that was filmed? There seemed to be quite a mix of cats there, including several pedigrees.

Theres loads of different cat nip (or catmint) plants, they all have different degrees of the 'active ingredient'! Nepeta Cataria is the main one I think. Apparently cats won't destroy a catmint plant thats been grown from seed, but will destroy a plant thats been transplanted, i.e. one that you buy from the garden centre and plant in your garden.

I was thinking of planting these in the garden but was afraid word would get out and  the rest of the neighbourhood would be over

I always get a bit anxious about Max going out after playing with catnip incase his coat has bit stuck in it and he gets attention he doesnt want

I've been looking for a catnip plant for my garden for ages...is the plant itself actually called catnip?

That tabby [with the drool] certainly looks like he's hearing the colours  :evillaugh:

Yes my cats eat the plant and roll in it but those cats looked a lot more spaced out than I have ever seen.

I knew some cats go crazy for the stuff (unfortunately, mine don't) but I didn't realise to what extent until I saw this!  Left to their own devices it seems they become catnip junkies!  Hope this hasn't been posted before - I didn't find anything on search.  Here we go: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4885903307467425868&q=catnip&total=3348&start=0&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=0
