Little Girl was pts in February and it still hurts. We rescued Smoke two days later because I couldn't cope, now if I can just get her ashes back from the person who was fostering her.

Anyway we know what you're going through.

Hi everyone :)

Thanks again for all your posts. I have been putting some of the best pics of him in a photo frame, and i couldn't help but smile.
we had a huge teddy on the spare bed, and snoopy would go to bed cuddled up with this bear, it was at least 4 times his size.

He is at peace and playing...or most probably up to mischief...he once stole a pork chop off the dinner table and ran down the garden with it. It took us ages to work out where the missing pork chop had gone.

My OH has hinted about rescuing a cat as it is so so quiet here. He is a big softie, and would probably home all homeless cats given the chance.

I love this place and all the kitty smilies are so cute,  :Luv:

So Sad to hear about Snoopy, Another Furbabe taken away too young :(

You have came to the right place as Everone here knows what you are going through
it is 18 days since my Hamish was sent to the Bridge, and I'm still finding it hard, especially in the morning's (when I would fill up the
food bowls) and at night when He would come into the bedroom to say goodnight and sleep (Hamish Loved going under the duvet)
did i do the right thing, .did he want to go?..so many questions
I think We all go through this, questioning ourselves..I did exactly the same with Hamish, but the fact that he is not suffering now
is a real comfort to me.
I know it will get easier, it's just a matter of time!!
when I came home from the Cremetorium with Hamish, I saw a big rainbow. I didn't realise it at the time, but I now believe it was
from Hamish, Just letting me Know he had arrived at Rainbow Bridge OK

I Hope Snoopy sends you one soon too

Misty and I are both thinking off you  :Luv:

Louise, i'm so sorry to hear about Snoopy, it does get easier i have been through it twice now.  It will get easier as the others have said but Snoopy will always have a place in your heart!

Ever since i was little i used to share everything with my pet dog (she was with me through good and bad) and when she died i was heart broken, that was 12 years ago.  I still think about her almost everyday but i can smile now at the happy memories and know that she is no longer suffering in pain.  She is playing at the bridge with the others.

Take care of yourself.

Hi everyone :Luv:

aww thank you for all your messages.... I have felt so awful about it.

did i do the right thing, .did he want to go?..so many questions

but i found a small video clip of him, rolling round the floor with the dog trying to pinch her paper ball & of him outside bouncing about on and off the wall.

when i saw it. I smiled as he was having fun.

I miss him so much, and little things remind me of him, Its going to take some getting used to..last night i gave the dog & my other cat a little treat and when i handed it to them i

found i had taken a third one out for snoopy. :(

Hi Louise &  :welcome: to Purrs, sorry it is under such sad circumstances   I know exactly how you are feeling as I went through the same thing back in February, I know it probably doesn't feel like it right now as having to make the choice is so painful but you really did give Snoopy the Greatest Gift :grouphug:

The Greatest Gift

I always knew this time would come,
From the very instant our eyes first met.
How I loved you then! How I love you now!
I made a promise then, and I will keep that promise now...
You will not suffer from a pain that will not heal;
You will not know the loss of a life remembered, now gone.

It is for me alone to make this decision,
The price for the bright joy and pure laughter
You brought me during the time we shared.
I am the only one who can decide when it is time.
When my hope dies, and my fear rides high,
Just when I need you most, I must let you go.

It is for you alone to tell me when you are ready
For without your guidance, I will not know
When to lay my grief, my guilt, my anger
My sorrow and my selfish heart aside
And give you this last gift, this greatest gift.
Your eyes will speak to mine, and I will know.

The pain of this moment is excruciating.
Tears stream down my face in a river of sorrow.
And my heart drowns in a pool of grief.
For you have spoken and I have listened,
And unlike other decisions I have made
This one brings no relief...no comfort...no peace.

For if there´s one thing you´ve taught me,
If there´s only one thing I´ve learned...
Unconditional love has a condition after all,
I must be willing to let you go, when you speak to me
I must be willing to help you go, if you cannot go alone.
And I must accept my pain so you can be free of yours.

Go easily now, go quickly now,
Do not linger here, it is time for you to leave.
Go find your strength, go find your youth.
Go find the ones who've gone before you.
You are free to leave me now, free to let your spirit soar
Rest easy now, your pain will soon be gone.

I pray I will find comfort in my memories...
In the dark and lonely days ahead.
I cannot say I will not miss you, I cannot say I will not cry.
For only my tears can heal my broken heart.
But, I promise you this; as long as I live,
You will live, alive in my mind, forever in my heart.

So I give you this last gift, all I have left to give,
And this will be my greatest gift...sending you away.
It is the measure of my unconditional love...
For only the greatest love can say,
"Good-bye, go find the bridge, we'll meet again,
Loving you has been the greatest gift of all."
Forever and Always... Until Rainbow bridge....

Hi Louise,

I recently had to have my cat put to sleep after he became ill. Although he was elderley and it was the kindest thing to do it broke my heart and still does.

A friend recently said to me that having him pts was like I was doing a final act of love for him.

Thinking of you

Louise, you will feel lost for a while. You'll forget from time to time that he's not around in his favourite spots sometimes too, if you react anything like I did. (I would still check on the bed for Parsley when I was about to start hoovering.)

Snoopy knew he was loved, and I'm sure he appreciated everything you did for him.

RIP, Snoopy. :RIP:

Hi Louise  :welcome: to Purrs . I'm so sorry for Snoopy hun. Sending hugs over to you.  It it soooooo awful to loose an adorable babe, i have been there in the past and recently and i still haven't got over it, you never do but it does start to get a bit easier. There are so many of us that know what you are going through hun and we will be here for you.

Snoopy will always be with you in your heart he will be there whenever you need him, you can talk to him when ever you want and he will hear you.
He will be at the bridge now with all our precious babes, they will greet him and show him the ropes. It's all fun up there ya know, no pain only laughter and playing.  One day we will cuddle them again, one day we will be able to tell them how much we love them, what a day that will be  :Luv:.

Post as much as you want to hun and what ever you need to. If you feel up to it we would love to hear about him and see any pics as well as your other babe.

Rest easy little snoopy, it's never goodbye, they are always with us - it's until we see you again.

I feel lost

Hello,

This is my first post here, a very kind lady gave me this address.

I had to have my little cat snoopy put to sleep on monday & I'm heatbroken.

He had been ill, & i had been treating him at home.(we all thought he was getting well) But sunday something happened (a funny turn we are not sure what) aand he told me enough was enough.

I took him frst thing monday morning bymyself to the vet as it was the kindest thing for him, but I have felt awful since then.

He was 7 in august, and had been there (along with my other little cat who I still have) for me through everything and saying goodbye was the hardest thing ever.

I just keep crying, and feel lost.
