As he's so young, I'd really rather err on the side of caution and take him to a vet rather than try and sort it out myself

my kittens have not yet weaned. however the boy went for a poo the other day on the floor. it was very hard and odd looking. he seems today to be trying to do another poo. it seems stuck inside him. i don't know what to do???
i am going to try syringing him water to try soften things up. ahhh any tips? advice? help?????
