Getting a successful paw print

I've just had these done in clay.  The woman gently pressed the paw and rolled it from side to side - like fingerprinting

furry paws are a lot more flexible than baby feet, would try on paper first ...

My niece had a footprint on a mug done when she was a baby. I'm sure my sister in law said that they bring the mug to the foot rather than trying to push the foot down onto the mug, and kind of roll it round rather than stamp a print - does that make any sense?!! Not sure if it'll work with furry paws, but maybe worth a try?

just put it somewhere they shouldn't be, it works for my stuff pawprints all over them

I'm guessing worktops then, tops of shelves near ornaments, in the kitchen when food is being prepared

Make out or DO something VERY important they are sure to join in. If you demand a Print they will see you in hell first. But something that has to be pristeen, then paw prints gallore

I think they would crack if you dry them too quickly so best to do at room temperature.

I got mine. I got it ready and then put it on the floor and held Lexy over it and gently pressed her front paw to it at an angle. She seemed to be ok with it and grumbled a bit. But the key was to catch her unawares. I only did one pawprint though.

And I just left it in the room, it dried well. I made it pretty thick though.

 ok, please help. I now have both my frames from Tan for the mogshots (sorry!) and paw prints but THEY are not co-operating with the paw print bit. It's too feebly imprinted and they withdraw their pawz. I meant to try again at the weekend when 2 of us could have had a go, but OH was studying and not in the mood.... (hard to believe I know).
Has anyone got a foolproof method of getting a really good front and back paw print from a reluctant subject?

Also for those who've done it with the photoframe kit (no pun intended  ) when it says leave for 6 hours then 'flip over' (turn over?) and leave for 24 hours - do you leave it on or near a radiator or just at ordinary room temp and on a clean surface? That's the only bit that thicko SWMum can't work out (for now!).
I must get decent photos properly printed as think the ones from a computer printer fade (?). I may try the built in Apple (mac) photo printing facility but if anyone thinks that's no good or has other recomms, please pm me. I want a wonderful keepsake forever of the boys.
