Awww poor Bilbo.

Barney had  conjunctivitis and what we found was after giving him the eyedrops tempting him with a little reward like a bit of meat went down very well, he expected it everytime but I think he enjoyed the treat!  : ;D

Awww if only you could speak to him and tell him its all for his own good!

Cheese is the same with pills/eye drops/etc - they come around in the end after a little sulk!

Good luck!  :)

To think I might not see those eyes, makes it so hard not to cry, and as we say our long goodbyes, I nearly do.

Thanks Teresa. I've been playing with a fishing rod toy which he's ok with. I guess he'll settle down when the treatment ends - he was doing really well, being really affectionate, jumping up onto my knee in the evening and sleeping stretched out on me at night.

I got some funny looks in the village shop when people saw the state of my wrists though  :-[

Hi Carl
I remember the problems with Bilbo all too well from the days he arrived here with a ruptured eye, trouble is he is now associating you with the eye drops which he really hates. He will get over it but try playing with a distance toy like a peacock feather which feels nice when it comes into contact with him, he`ll forgive you. Good Luck hope you`ve not got too many war wounds.

Bilbo and eyedrops ...

Hello everyone  :)

As you may have read on my other post, Bilbo and Baggins have been prescribed eye drops for conjunctivitis, which we have been applying (not always successfuly with Bilbo) twice a day.

The problem is, Bilbo won't let me go anywhere near him now since we've been treating him. He's come on so much in the last year, and now its like three steps back. Has anyone else had this problem? Do the furballs in question get over it?
