PERSCRIPTION DRUGS
« Reply #1 on: July 29, 2007, 10:48:18 AM »
I have just received the following from petmeds and interested to read that they accept faxed prescriptions. I know some rescues on here including ours ask you order from VetUK (logging on via our sites) as we  receive a 5% commission, however, we don't on prescription drugs. Sp perhaps you kind people will continue to purchase non prescription goods via Vet UK.

I know the free perscriptins are available until Now 2008, I wonder if it will be up for review or if we will have to pay for them after that date.

Newsletter July 2007 - 5% Discount Code Included

Hi All,

What a bumper month we've had here - Seems those pesky fleas really are out at the moment!

Included in this email is a 5% discount code, clarification on how to order prescription items, some shortcuts to new products added to the site, some recommended products for flea control and some information on arthritis products for pets also.

What has Petmeds been doing?

Rescue Organisations

In particular this month, we are working on our support for Rescue Organisations. We are now supplying everything to them at cost price and for any animal rehomed we will give the new owner a completely free rehoming pack containing:

Frontline, Drontal, Cosequin, Phytopica, Serene-Um and a Fish4Dogs Treats

This is a huge giveaway but these animals deserve the best care and hopefully petmeds is helping by doing this. Please help spread the word and if you are involved in any way with rescue animals, please contact us to see how we can help you.

Sponsorship

We are very excited to have just become a sponsor of the canine cross country running events being organised by Cani-Cross!

These events are a great day out and there are lots to choose from. First race starts in Septemebr and there is stil time to sign up!
Fleas & Worming Control

Fleas are certainly prevalent at the moment. With stories every day of infestations, now is the time to make sure your pets are covered. Our best selling Flea Treatment Frontline has flown off the shelves this month with twice as much sold as last month along with our best selling wormer, Drontal, but don't forget about the house! With your pets covered, the fleas can still live in your bedding or in carpets and sofas. To combat this you need to buy products such as Vet Kem Acclaim or Staykill which will last 6 months and give peace of mind.

Remeber we accept faxed or emailed prescriptions also. Simply email to info@petmeds.co.uk or fax to 020 8181 6082. We aim to dispatch all orders within 24 hours and to make life easier for you, ask for a Repeat Prescription from your vet so that we can hold it on file

The ongoing loyalty scheme has been put on hold as many seem to prefer the monthly one off discounts of 5%. We will be trialling a new version shortly

Arthritis

While many of you are saving money with us already for the preventantive or treatment of Arthritis, we have included a few pointers which may allow you to save a bit more.

1) Find good alternatives! Many pets are on very expensive forms of non prescription arthritis treatments but there are many choices. You should always consult your vet before changing treatments but as a guide, our best sellers are:

Cosequin - Market leading. We sell for £39.00 (including p&p), Vet sells for approx £73

Glyco-Flex - Glyco-Flex 3 is the strongest supplement we sell, so your vet may recommend this for severely impaired animals.

Arthriti-Um - These have been added recently to the site but already we have received excellent feedback from our customers.

2) Petmeds is not allowed to promote prescription medications. However, some brands of prescription medications contain the exact same contents and even come in the same size, but vary in price. As an example, Metacam and Meloxidyl. Speak to your vet to see if you could be saving more money.

3) Buy in Bulk - Petmeds may not have all the deals online but if you call us and would like to buy more than 3 bottles, we can provide an extra discount for you.

 4) Claim on the insurance. If your vet has recommended your pet take arthritis treatments, you can claim this on the insurance and by buying from Petmeds you can extend the policy coverage. With every purchase, Petmeds provides a full VAT receipt for you to send away with your claim.

Any questions, please email or call us and we will do our best to help you

Save 5% Use the code pet2309 to save a further 5% on all your orders. This code can be entered on the very final page of checkout or quoted on phone orders.

Pass on to friends and family to help them start saving too!

Offer Expires: 12th August 2007
Best Wishes,
