I just read a childrens book in tesco tonight called ,,,,,,,,cant remember the cats name but X the forgetful cat.

Was very simple but it forgot where the catflap was and wanted to come back through the window etc etc, sounded like a normal cat to me

Mog? There was a whole series, I used to love those books when I was younger. I think recently though the author wrote a new one where Mog died. She said that she wanted it to be as true to life as possible and for children to understand about their loved pets dying  :( .

Best one I ever read was a kid's story called "Seven Dinner Sid"

Can't remember who it was by, but it reminded me very much of the Tobster!

I read a wonderful book called "Tailchasers Song" by Tad Williams. A fantasy book from a cats perspective - wicked!

This is a really good idea.. We've all got our stories to tell.. And if it managed to raise some money for such a good cause even better! I'm game!

Favorite cat book is Varjak Paw by RA Said (I think), illustrated by David Mckean (sp).

It is something that could be done ;)

My mum is always talking about writing a childrens book about the adventures Simpkin and Teasle (2 x cats) and Tess (1 x black labrador) get up to .......Teasle chasing round the vets surgery and then making a bee line for the kind of filing unit thingy and getting in amongst all the cotton wool ......... Tess going missing every morning for about an hour a time, only to discover she was at a neighbours house in the village, sitting outside having breakfast with them scoffing hot cross buns  :evillaugh: !!!  Whenever she takes them to the vets you can guarantee she comes back with some funny story or another. I keep telling her to go on a childrens story writing course at the local college.

It’s a good idea but boy would someone need the time to go through everything.

Not just editing but putting it together so it looks nice & pictures as well.

Everyone would have to give consent for use of pictures/stories and if their real names were to be used etc.

All the publishers I know do Sci fi & Fantasy books which is no help.

Call it the Massive Book of Cat Stories, due to all the pictures that would have to be included.

We should write a book

The thought occured that there are some wonderful funny, and heartwarming stories in this forum. Stories direct from people running rescues, cat owners, all kinds of people... As well as real gems of advice and things learned by experience that you don't get from other other sources.

Wouldn't it be good if someone had the time and resources to go through them and make a book. A book like that would sell, I feel.... then perhaps we might even raise enough money to build an FIV sanctuary...  :sneaky:

Anyone know a publisher?  :-:
