Know how you are feeling but don't panic. We lost one of our cats for he week before he plodded in one morning, we live near fields and I presume thats where he was. He must have ignored us when we walked round the fields calling his name. A couple of years ago we found a cat in our garage, the owners think he must have been there a few days. If you have checked all the obvious places nearby its probably going to be ok. More recently my friend lost her cat for nearly a week and they eventually found her holed up in a nearby barn with a supply of caught rabbits. Anyway best of luck, thinking about you

I agree with what Nick said cos last time I couldnt find Sasa she was locked in one of my sheds and cos she is scared of people she probably hid when I was locking it but after about 6 hrs in there she rushed out as soon as I opened it.

Have you been out calling late at night when its quiet?

There is a list of things to do that Sam puts up will see if I can find it.

Hi Michelle,

I know exactly what you are going through, Willow is probably not missing at the moment but just gone off on a walk. Does she hunt? Do you have a cat flap? if so could she have been back and gone out again without you knowing?

I know it is a pain in the neck when they go walk about and very worrying. My Spike spent the night in the cupboard under the stairs last night and I was in the garden looking for him!

When mine had easy access to the local area, this time of year they could go off for a few days... I figured it was something to do with the evening light and hunting opportunities.

Michelle sorry to hear Willow is missing. If my experiences are anything to go by then its extremly likely that Willow has been inadvertantly locked in somewhere and I am willing to bet it will be within less that a 4 garden radius of home. Most cats don't stray further than that unless its a resident Tom.
You best bet is to thoroughly search your house and garden first .
I know you have probably already done that but do a slow methodical check of everywhere including cupboards loft etc. Check under all shrubs and bushes in the garden

Next its really important to make a list of all your neighbours Draw a little sketch map to help . Then go to each house and ask them if they will allow you to look in their garage and sheds . (Use the excuse that your cat is very timid and will hide and won't come to anyone else) This is important because although people mean well they will often say yeah I'll check later and then forget or not do a thorough enough check. Ask them to check all their bedrooms even the ones they don't use.

One of my cats was found in a neigbours garage after I insisted I look for myself He had looked three times in 8 days !... After about 4 minutes of calling, out came Teddy from a pile of boxes in the loft ! he had been there all along . That taught me an important lesson. You need to call out loud and long give them several minutes to wake up and to come out to you.
Both of my missing cats turned up in a neighbours garages where hey had gone in un noticed and been shut in. Even though my neighbours had used their garages the cats hadn't come out in the open .

I'm willing to bet that Willow is within 100 feet of where you are now , Very unlikely to be any further than he would normally roam so concentrate your search close to home and be very thorough. Peerr over peoples fences and make a note of possible hiding places. He will probably have chosen somewhere cool like a garage or shed with concrete floor.

Have any of your neighbours gone off on holidays - she may be shut in a shed. I had a cat go walkabout for over a week and I was distraught. Was composing an advertisement for daytime television and hunting out photos to supplement the ad as well. Then one evening I drove up the drive and there he was. dust impregnated in his coat and dehydrated. I think he had been stuck in a rabbit burrow, poor boy. He was very glad to see me and I collapsed into hysterics. In warmer, dryer weather they sometimes just go hunting and forget they are lapcats for a few days. Don't fret too badly but I know how hard it is not to worry, particularly if they are cats of habit.

When I used to let my cats out one did not come in at the time it always did and I just know something was not right and immediately started a search. After a couple of hours I just kept being drawn to a greenhouse in a garden very near, and yes there was Tricky and what a relief.

I havent seen Willow since Thursday morning.

In the nice weather she does tend to stay out over night but is always back in the morning so this feels very wrong.

I have just rang Mirco-chip company and reported her missing and am printing up posters at this moment.
I have been over the fields calling her for the last couple of days.

I feel sick but if i start crying i think i will fall apart so i am trying to stay strong.

God this is awful
