JS, i dont know what you mean about dual and all wormer but plain old drontal cat covers tape, round and hook worms.

Why do you want to treat for hookworm? I thought it was rather rare   :-:

:)

I only found out because I tried to order the needles from VetUK and it told me I had have an order £10.00 or over. Not needing anything else at the time, I tried BestPet. Their cost is 10p more expensive for a box of 30 needles, but it's a bit more convenient when you only need one thing.

but they don't appear to have anything that mentions hookworm either.

The Drontal XL does state that it controls every type of intestinal worm commonly found in large UK cats.

they don't have a minimum order cost as VetUK do

I didn't know that. I have had loads of low cost orders, in fact only today I have had 28 fortokor delivered costing £10.64

Thanks Ela. :) I use them for my caninsulin needles (they don't have a minimum order cost as VetUK do) but they don't appear to have anything that mentions hookworm either. How odd!

Thanks everyone and thanks for the link, Black cat!

But not one of them is a Drontal all wormer. It's supposed to treat the cat for roundworm, hookworm and tapeworm. Hookworm isn't mentioned on those on the link.  :-:

I'ved used the Drontal dual wormer before, I was just wondering about the all wormer really.

Ive used both drontal & Milbermax and no probs

All our fosterers use either Drontal or Milbemax  (Panacur for kittens) and I am talking hundreds of cats a year and I have not known a single problem due to worming.

I've never used Drontal, but did recently use Milbemax. Within 24 hours Polly became extremely ill. This may not have had anything to do with the wormer but........
Cats were once gods; they have never forgotten this, nor have the people they own.

Yes I have used it and no, there were no ill effects. The dog had serious worms when I first got him and had to be treated several times. The cats and the dog get it regularly from the vet. Surprised VetUK does not have it available - perhaps they are just out of stock at present. every vet I have ever used has prescribed it so I would imagine it would be fairly readily available........ well it is in the antipodes at least  :-:

I've looked for this on VetUK but can't find it. Has anyone used it? And if so, have there been any negative effects?
