LOOKING TO ADOPT / GIVE A HOME TO A CAT

First port of call is to always your contact local cat rescue. Find your local rescue/s contact details here http://www.catchat.org/adoption/index.html

If you are looking to adopt a cat you will find plenty of rescues organizations on Purrs who have literally hundreds of rescue felines in their care all looking for “forever homes”. To enable them and you to make a match please post relevant details.

Here are some points to consider.

   Your name and contact details. Please bare in mind this is a public forum so not wise to leave contact details in the post - If you are not a Purrs regular, please send an admin or moderator an email address or a phone number by private message.
   A bit about where you live. (rurally, flat, town based, city centre, out of town)
   Are you near any roads, railways. (please be honest as many rescues will require a homecheck anyhows before homing a cat. Please remember there are cats out there that need a safe indoor home due to health reasons, consider them if you live near a busy road or in a flat)
   Family circumstances. Do you have children and if so what ages?
   A bit about your working day pattern
   If you currently have any other animals.
   Do you have a garden? Is it  enclosed or easily assessible.
   Do you have a catflap installed?
   Have you had cats before?
   What kind of cat/s you are looking to adopt.
   If you are looking for something specific such as a pedigree.
   Whether you are willing to consider a senior puss? (Remember senior cats always get overlooked in rescue, but they have so much to give if you can give them a second chance).
   Area you are willing to travel to adopt a cat.
   Have you been homecked and if not whether you would be willing too.

Extra info is especially important if you would like to give a loving home to - a FIV or FeLV+, very old or very young, feral, a cat with medical needs etc.

All this information will help rescues find the best match for you.

If you're not a Purrs In Our Hearts regular - please leave us some other way to contact you by sending an admin or moderator an email address or a phone number by private message, it can difficult if there's an urgent message and the only way of getting in touch is leaving messages for say "LuvzCatz" on a thread.   :thanks:

Thanks you very much for considering giving a rescue cat a home.
 :thanks:
